I just had a moment of doubt.
I was updating my tea menu, and it occured to me that I don't really know anyone else who does this.

Are there others out there who keep a list of what teas or coffees you have on hand to offer your guests?

Does anyone else ever feel they've landed slap bang in the middle of a parallel universe?

Tea and coffee menu?? Shock

Sirzy · 29/08/2011 19:26

Tetley teabag or nestle coffee - I dont really need a list of options ;)

scuzy · 29/08/2011 19:26

oh my god you actually mean different types of tea? and not what to have for tea i.e. supper?

ah your on your own their love lol but sure at least your guests are well looked after. lucky if i can find a clean mug and a digestive if someone calls around without notice.

whackamole · 29/08/2011 19:27

Ditto Sirzy....although I think it might be Asda own tea bags at the moment. I don't drink it so don't buy it!

Sirzy · 29/08/2011 19:28

Its often Asda here to, depends which is on the best offer at the time!

baguettecut · 29/08/2011 19:30

How bizarre.

clawsatELVES · 29/08/2011 19:30

Goodynuff , that is genius! Are you very organised in all areas of your life?

How much is on your menu, and why did you update? What was your latest entry (on menu) and what is your most popular item?!

gapants · 29/08/2011 19:32

Can I come over...or can you up load a picture of your menu?

I do have about 7 different teas in the cupboard, and can rattle them off to my guests, but coffee? Non, just some crapola instant that is lurking in the back as neither me nor DH drink coffee.

Flumptious · 29/08/2011 19:33

Love it, "a moment of doubt"!!

Thought you meant beef stew Monday etc etc.

I thought only coffe shops had a menu? Never ever ever had a menue offered at anyone's house. Reckon you're unique and not in a bad way.

Panzee · 29/08/2011 19:34

I have loads of different teas. But they're all for me. Guests get PG Tips.

usualsuspect · 29/08/2011 19:35

Is your menu on your kitchen wall ?

scuzy · 29/08/2011 19:36

nothing but barrys and cheap aldi coffee here

LineRunner · 29/08/2011 19:37

Goody, can you come and clean my kitchen?

Bless. Smile

thisisyesterday · 29/08/2011 19:38

erm, i am pretty sure you're on your own goodynuff!

do you actually hand the menu to your guests? or is it just to jog your memory?

dozyrosie · 29/08/2011 19:38

DP has maybe a dozen kinds of tea kept in categories in the cupboard. I have 5 types of coffee in nice ikea jars. YANBU
ooo fancy a Brew?

Goodynuff · 29/08/2011 19:42

Oh Blush I am starting to think I really am on my own!
Grin
I have a menu of 20 teas, 6 loose bases for mixing teas (dried fruits, wintergreen, mint and such) and 4 coffees.

I have a tiny galley kitchen, off a hallway. There is no room for anyone else in there, so guests are in the livingroom,on the other side of the wall.
Rather than stand in the kitchen shouting out a long list of options, repeating, forgetting, and such, I decided to keep a menu.
It is in the hot drinks cupboard, so it is on hand to update when you put away your shopping. Plus when you run out, you just cross that one off.

Once a month you make a fresh list.

I can hand it over to my visitors, and they can browse, and choose as they like.
Smile

Serriously though...

clawsatELVES · 29/08/2011 19:44

You've laminated it, haven't you?!

You seem very hospitable, I also want to come round to play at yours.
PLease please tell me what is the most popular item on your menu! And what would you not bother again with?

thisisyesterday · 29/08/2011 19:44

20 teas? do they not go stale before you get through them all?

usualsuspect · 29/08/2011 19:44

Do you have a wine list Grin

LineRunner · 29/08/2011 19:45

It sounds lovely, actually. We're just jealous.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 29/08/2011 19:46

Is your name Betty?

clawsatELVES · 29/08/2011 19:46

thisisyesterday - I wondered about staleness. Also about flavours melding and mixing in the cupboard.

I have all my teas in those clippy-sided boxes, lined up neatly. Which is odd as I am a complete slattern in most other areas of domesticity.

I am ashamed to say that I only have 4 or 5 teas.

BeStillMyBeatingFart · 29/08/2011 19:46

20 teas?

Fuck me, your kitchen must be HUGE!!

Bless you though! I

I only have one brand of tea and one brand of coffee (Tesco own, usually) and I remember how my friends have their tea (years of working in nursing homes and remembering how 20+ rsidents have their tea or coffee).

Vibrant · 29/08/2011 19:47

You should bake cakes and open a tea shop.
