Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who enter the Gazebo and sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo, AF, HE, Cheesey and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up !

(peers in nervously)

Hello! I'm new, long time lurker and so forth. Smile

I have no ferrero rocher but do have the last piece of DD's birthday cake lying in the bottom of the cupboard (2 weeks old...nice!)

Have been dipping in and out of various topics/threads - mainly AIBU - it's 'lively' to say the least but very entertaining and informative.

I come here from a much more sedate forum, have been lured by tales of intrigue and the weekly newsletter I get from MN. I am now a total addict......ooo er!

elmofan · 08/01/2011 20:06

Welcome she ill pass on your 2 week old cake thanks Wink

FabbyChic · 08/01/2011 20:09

I can't eat cake Im back on the diet! Can I just sniff it please!

CheerfulYank · 08/01/2011 20:23

Well as I am currently being accused of being smug on an AIBU thread I started about eating, I must try a bite of this two week old cake. :) Welcome shewhomustnotbenamed!

I'm on a diet too fabby ...such fun, eh?

FabbyChic · 08/01/2011 20:27

Diets hate em. Been on it since beginning October only lost a stone, eating next to nothing, another two stone to go more or less.

Son bought me a wii fit for xmas but its getting the energy to use it! :)

valiumredhead · 08/01/2011 20:28

10 lbs 8???? Gina Good Lord, my boy was weeny, only 3lbs 9 Grin I think big babies are such a lovely armful :) even though the thought of it makes me wince! Ouch!

valiumredhead · 08/01/2011 20:30

Oooo just off to check out AIBU Cheerfulyank Grin

valiumredhead · 08/01/2011 20:31

shewhoHeloooo! I joined last week too. Good innit? :)

Shewhoshallnotbenamed · 08/01/2011 20:39

I would let you sniff the cake, but have decided that the time has come for it to go in the bin......it made stale look positively moist!

I now have nothing but red wine in the house.....DD in bed......last night's Graham Norton on Sky+....who needs cake?!

I should have started my diet last Monday, I have no willpower. Will try again this Monday....probably!

Oh, and apologies for the looong name - I couldn't think of anything and as I'm re-reading Harry Potter (sad, I know!) it seemed appropriate. Waiting for the inspiration that will bring a shortened name!

Shewhoshallnotbenamed · 08/01/2011 20:40

sorry, Valiumredhead - it's great! Grin

valiumredhead · 08/01/2011 20:49

what is the bear emoticon for? I understand the biscuit but the bear?......

Teaandcakeplease · 08/01/2011 20:52

I wonder what labour is like with your baby the correct way round and if it hurts less often. LOL

TiredMum I'd opt for the C section from what you've told me, yes slow recovery but at least it's predictable and you can plan for it. See what the MW says.

Ooooo HELLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOO to the newbies on the thread. Grin

I'm watching Inception but it's so looonnnnggggg I keep pausing it. Do I have a short concentration span?

Valium if you have time read this thread from the very beginning upwards and you will have your answer on the pombear: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/1056940-to-think-this-couple-are-bonkers/AllOnOnePage

You might want to go into customize first and amend your settings to show over 100 posts per page or whatever it is first though. It'll make it easier to read it all.

Tea I LOVED Inception, I was gripped but confused at points - dh had to explain bits of it Blush

Ok, thanks will have a read of that thread!

Tiredmumno1 · 08/01/2011 21:14

thanks tea, its nice to hear some advice from someone else, what does everyone else think, thats if you want to say.

Shewhoshallnotbenamed · 08/01/2011 21:16

Tea - Inception, fantastic film!

I also have a internet addiction short attention span

The pombear thread - I have heard tell of that, I shall save that for after Graham Norton, thanks!

Shewhoshallnotbenamed · 08/01/2011 21:17
Smile
valiumredhead · 08/01/2011 21:43

Well that's half an hour I've enjoyed!!! Pom Bear anyone? Bear HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Grin

Thank you tea that explains it perfectly!

FabbyChic · 08/01/2011 21:49

Ive yet to see Inception keep the end to yourselves!

Teaandcakeplease · 08/01/2011 21:51

Only half an hour? I've caught myself reading a long thread and taking ages over it. I can spend all night on here Blush

Was very very funny, which is why mumsnet moved it to classics.

OP posts:
valiumredhead · 08/01/2011 22:03

I skipped through a lot of it so I could get the jist of it. I think the funniest thing was when a poster tried to get the thread removed - I must've snorted out loud then as dh asked if I was ok! Grin

CheerfulYank · 08/01/2011 22:33

I've always wondered what the pom bear meant, will check it out myself! :)

gomummygo · 08/01/2011 23:04

Hello and welcome Fabby and Shewho! :) And thanks for bringing up the pombear, I had wondered that too!

Tiredmum that's tough, in your shoes I'd probably go for the planned C section. Do you have a short list yet?

Teaandcakeplease · 08/01/2011 23:29

Shows how much time I spend on here that I know Blush I lurked on that thread from the beginning, as it was so active. I need to get a life Blush
