Day 1 for anyone just starting out

Hi all. This is my day 1. I have joined some other threads for support but thought I would start a new one for anyone just starting out on this journey. I have a drink problem. It got worse over lockdown.i have had day 1 before and failed but this time I am starting off prepared. I have books to read. I have joined Mumsnet for support and have told my family and friends.

Morning ymna, my 7 year old also wants the switch but the 4 year old will want one, it's just a non runner so I've lied and said Santa doesn't do tech.

My sister bought gorgeous loafers type shoes, she was sick of wearing runners. Cant remember where she got them but they are lovely, kind of swede and she is delighted. They go with anything. I might look at a pair too. Sick.of runners

Oh and I'm addicted to yummy mummies on netflix. DD loves it too. How sad am Iol

I have already said to 7 yo there's no x boxes in stock for Xmas as that's what he originally wanted (he also doesn't believe in fing santa) I'm like just don't tell the 4 yo.

Its a bit creepy and there was a wanking scene and luckily H didn't walk in coz he will be like Oh ur watching porn whilst he works so hard at home oh do fuck off. All a bit confusing re rubbing yoga mats! I need to exercise, I am feeling enormous, it's CRAZY how much choc and sweets I am eating. So annoying I really thought not drinking would make me thin but it's gone the other way. WAAAAHH. I know I need to sort my diet but I just can't see to do it.

Well done on your day 3 @Ynwa12345 you're doing just fine. What journey goes smoothly anyway, if it was easy everyone else would be doing it.

I absolutely agree with @Sneachta you need to take as much time for yourself as your H does, it's only fair. Even if it's just walking. Get yourself on audible, download some audiobooks (am loving "a bit of a stretch" by Chris Atkins at the moment, and your first book is free) and get out there. Fresh air, exercise and most importantly of all time away from the children and husband!!!

Omg your kitchen looks so clean and stunning @writingsonthewall well done!!! Thank fuck you have it back altho take out every night sounds like a dream to me...

I feel this thread and any support threads and some of the xmas ones are great but I was reading one earlier about a poster dropping her son late to nursery and she got the worst pasting ever and reduced her to tears-felt so bad but also think i need to stop reading those particular posts!

I've been craving profiteroles now I really want some. Might stick some on our online shop. Hopefully you can carve out some me time @Ynwa12345 it's so important. I really really struggle if I don't get some time to myself.

@hazelnutmochi thanks! I also want profiteroles. I went to Morrison’s earlier to get some bread and they had doughnuts marked down to 5p and cream cakes marked down to 9p. Obvs bought them and am now eating them 😫

Omg guys I'm so so hungry reading about cream cakes and doughnuts. I'm awful I pick at the kids crap oven food (I'm no cook I tell ya I try and try but if my kids onlt want certain things so be it at least they eat veg every day etc) anyway back to cream cakes mmmmm but my diet is very poor.. And my belly is showing quite a lot now looking like I'm preg.

Also I do try getting me time so I am doing that past 2 days walking on my own. But with me everything is always a bloody rush u know... I've always been like that rush my food rush my drunk rush my cig lol

Morning everyone day 114 here. Who'd have thought! Borrrriiiinnnnggg. I'm also eating like there is no tomorrow. Love baking and made a vic sponge yesterday which is gone. I should be making slimming world curries or something.

Yes ymna I understand the rushing, it's all we are used too that even when your stuck at home its rush and race for fear off some catastrophe happening (spilt milk or a kid meltdown) that you feel you have too. That thread was taken down hmmm. It's always the ones you least expect. Didnt read it.

Those loafers are from Office. They are the nude retro tassels. They even flew them over to the sticks in Ireland lol.

Right so all the talk of loaferscetc I'm going to plan a newish wardrobe. I want a pair of boots, not doc Martin's but you know the ones and new Jean's and tops. Sick of going round bedraggled looking. Going to up the yoga (from 20 mins to 30 mins lol) walk more and by xmas everyone will be wondering where the hell the old me gas gone :)

I'm in day 4 hahah I sound so errmnn like a mouse compared to yours but each on our own journey and that. H didn't open wine Sunday or Monday (baring in mind j wanted to Sunday after work and I had tk sort out kids whilst he watched footie grr) but then yday he went to open it at 4pm and I said oo why can't u just wait till weekend he's like no BUT then he stopped opening and opened it much later unsure when but still. Anyway I woke up with a dry mouth and like I'd been sick in it or something but that must be the smoking... Yucck.
Also the time i really want to get out the house is when both kids feral after school but there's no escape at all. They were fighting so much and I luckily intervened before H got nasty with 7yo. I mentioned switch he's like waste of money but he's willing to fork out fort 'newer technology' so ps5 n xbox... The mind boggles.
I don't want 7yo on anything tbh.
I'm looking for plain black trainers currently.
There was another thread and it was a poster saying she keeps all her things for best and I find I do that too! I'm not sure if it was a generation thing as my mum used to do the same. But I'm going to start pulling my 'nice' things out even if it's for the school run. A few said when they cleared out their parents or grandparents houses when they passed there was all this new stuff they never got to use so yes use it! Day 4 I got this

Oh my god, my life is one big RUSH too, I hate it. Always late for something, always too much to do. Drives me crazy.

Darn, too late to that thread, it's been taken down. What happened then? She was late to nursery drop off, nursery harassed her and then a load of posters jumped on her and said she was out of order? I always miss the good ones (sorry to that poster though, doesn't sound nice!)

@hazelnutmochi day 79 today for me I think so must be 80 for you. I'm getting nervous as I get near to 90 or 100. I think I will be tempted to drink.
