What are your opinions on a guest sleeping naked in someone else's house?

I'm talking here about a male, late 60s to early 70s, who always sleeps naked and this includes when being a guest in someone's home.
Also, would you be comfortable letting you DC visit and sleep in the same house with this man (he is granny's husband)?

I mean as long as they didn’t walk around naked then sure. I’ve never thought to ask my guests if they sleep naked 😂

Edit to add, you’re kids sleeping over, again as long as he kept it to the bedroom, you’re kids won’t have a clue.

drusilla49 · 26/10/2026 15:54

theres nothing wrong with sleeping naked in the privacy of your own bed?! I don’t think that in itself makes you more or jess likely to be some sort of sexual predator, which seems to be what you’re implying. Some people just run hot…

DewDropsAndCobWebs · 26/10/2026 15:54

I guess the only part that matters is, does he leave the bedroom naked?

HoldMyWine · 26/10/2026 15:55

How do you know he sleeps naked? As long as he isn’t walking around naked in front of little ones or inviting them into bed with him not a huge issue, although I personally would rather he kept his pants on

BarbaraUsher · 26/10/2026 15:56

How do you know this??? It’s weird to know what someone does or does not wear in bed unless they sleep in the same bad as you or are your own young children

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 26/10/2026 15:57

Yes. Why not?
He's entitled to sleep naked in his own house.

QueenOfAccountability · 26/10/2026 15:58

nothing wrong with sleeping naked.

walking around naked with unrelated young kids in the same house is hugely suspicious.

Which is he doing?

VoltaireMittyDream · 26/10/2026 16:01

The fact you even know your granny’s husband sleeps naked suggests there’s some weirdness around boundaries in that house / relationship. How does that even come up in conversation?

Nothing wrong witj sleeping naked, but quite odd for your step granddaughter to know all about it

FunAtParties · 26/10/2026 16:08

What a strange strange question. You think harm will come to your kids if they visit the house of someone who sleeps naked? Christ, if only I’d known this was a thing I could have deflected LOADS of visitors over the years!!

Charlenedickens · 26/10/2026 16:12

I change the sheets for every guest so it would be none of my business and I woukd certainly not police my guests sleeping habits or demand they wear something

how very odd and intrusive of you

What simply as he sleeps naked, are you serious right now? Millions sleep naked it’s very Normal.

rwalker · 26/10/2026 16:14

I would hope you give him so privacy in his bedroom so wouldn’t really matter if he was naked or not

Weeelokthen · 26/10/2026 16:16

Shit, are me, 50's, and dp 60's weirdos then?
I think it's weird and uncomfortable to sleep in clothing.😂

ExquisiteDecoration · 26/10/2026 16:17

How would you even know this? Or are you the granny?

BillieWiper · 26/10/2026 16:17

It feels like I shouldn't need to care because nobody would be rude or peculiar enough to get out of bed and walk outside of the bedroom nude in another person's house?

If they were sleeping in a room that wasn't for their sole use, like the living room, then I would expect them to be clothed if someone came in. Though I don't feel I can actually police what people wear while they sleep.

caringcarer · 26/10/2026 16:17

I sleep naked including when I'm a guest. As long as I wear a dressing gown to leave my room, what does it matter?

Pumpkindoodles · 26/10/2026 16:19

I wouldn’t like this in my house really but I wouldn’t know would I?
re children sleeping over though no I wouldnt like this. Can he not wear pants and a tshirt for the odd night that they stay? If dc go into grandma in the night or want to get in bed with her there is a naked man there. And why do you know this about him? I’d suggest the boundaries are already a bit odd for you to know, but not be close enough to ask him to put clothes on/ not trust that he would put clothes on if there’s a chance unrelated small children are present, so no I wouldnt like it.

Fortuity · 26/10/2026 16:20

What is the difference between being naked under sheets and naked under pyjamas?

Hyroplate · 26/10/2026 16:20

Sleeping is fine, assuming they're in their own room. Why would anyone know what he wears, or doesn't wear to sleep?

CurlewKate · 26/10/2026 16:22

How do you know? Would it be different if he was 30?

Sunbringer · 26/10/2026 16:24

I don’t think it’s anyone else’s business how they sleep… the sheets should be changed either way and you shouldn’t be getting in the persons bed.

Huge portions of the population sleep naked ffs.

ComtesseDeSpair · 26/10/2026 16:24

Teach your children that they need to knock and then wait to be given permission to go into somebody else’s bedroom, then it makes no difference whatsoever how much or how little other people choose to wear to bed. Somebody being naked behind a closed door isn’t something to be “uncomfortable” about.

Sunbringer · 26/10/2026 16:26

And yes I’d be fine with DC sleeping in their grannies house when her partner was there even if he went to sleep in his own bed, in his own room, naked.

Waitingfordoggo · 26/10/2026 16:26

People have the right to wear whatever they like to bed. I actually don’t like the thought of someone sleeping naked in my spare bed but that’s just me and my weirdness, and I’d have no idea what they were wearing in bed so it wouldn’t be an issue.

DuggansBakery · 26/10/2026 16:27

My reading of this is that the naked sleeper is a guest, as is the visiting child. They will be visiting simultaneously. OP is the host, I think.

Will he be sleeping in a room with an en suite bathroom?
