What are your opinions on a guest sleeping naked in someone else's house?

I'm talking here about a male, late 60s to early 70s, who always sleeps naked and this includes when being a guest in someone's home.
Also, would you be comfortable letting you DC visit and sleep in the same house with this man (he is granny's husband)?

I'm in two minds about this. I hate being naked and hate the idea of other people wandering around naked, but I also accept thats cos I think naked is so awkward myself. I cannot fathom why a person would walk naked to a bathroom. That said I also know that I'm being ridiculous and have my own hang ups, and the human body is nothing to be ashamed of. If someone want to be naked then I guess that's their choice. I wouldn't feel comfortable bumping into a naked guest going to the toilet but that's on me, if they don't mind then that's ok too. If it were my kids staying I'd prefer if everyone threw on a layer to go to the bathroom. If they don't and my kids see a naked man walking along a corridor it's hardly a big deal is it, just a body. I just think out of respect they should cover up though.

I sometimes sleep naked but would keep a robe handy in case I needed to get out of bed. If there were unrelated children in my house I would always wear at least pants and a t-shirt to bed just in case they needed to come get me in the night, don't want to cause any childhood trauma!

Well that's not sleeping naked, is it, that's walking in shared spaces naked.
Yeah, that would be a problem for most people I should think.

I’d assume that he pulls on some bottoms to go to the loo . I sleep naked and just keep a nightie to hand to pull on if I’m in someone else’s house , a hotel etc .

Does he put a dressing gown on to go out of the bedroom? If so there isn’t an issue. I hate nightwear myself

I sleep naked wherever I am, so would do in someone else’s house. However I’d cover up to go to the bathroom or anywhere communal.

Sorry, but I spat my wine out at this thread. The whole concept of not feeling comfortable with someone else in the house sleeping naked in another room is hilarious. Are they not allowed to fall to sleep after sex before they put their pjs back on? ;-) I do think though if you have safeguarding concerns, this is something else. It's fair enough that if you don't trust this man you don't have to allow your dc to sleep there without you.

DH sleeps naked, if he was sharing a room with a child (although extremely unlikely) he would wear pyjamas. He puts on a dressing gown as soon as he gets out of bed anyway.

Does he also shower naked?
Sleeping naked in his own bedroom is fine. Wandering around outside his bedroom isn't if other people are in the house.

Anyone with an ounce of common sense won’t do that. And how do you know he sleeps naked?

I do find it bizarre that you are invested in whether your guests wear nightwear or not.

I sleep naked but would never dream of walking about nude. That needs to be clearly stated as a no no

@SailorMars7 You need to clarify if you mean fully nude when you say "naked." Bizarrely, some people nowadays think that "naked" means being in your underwear. Does he sleep in his underwear, or without underwear?

I would be fine with it if he threw on a robe or shorts when he left the room. As long as the kids know not to go in the bedroom.

My 80 year old dad sleeps naked, always has . But he puts on pants or a bathrobe to go to the loo obviously. Nothing pervy with him- he just sweats at night. I did tell my sons to knock on the door and not just walk in on him though😅

Are you trying to upset the OP. Maybe granny and her husband don't just sleep naked they also have sex! Naked!

Walking around naked while a guest, or while you have guests , or while there are children in the house is entirely unreasonable.

My kids would definitely not be sleeping in the same house. Although my kids wouldn't be sleeping over alone at granny's while her boyfriend is there anyway. Naked or not.

Okay, walking to the bathroom naked is not okay. Just tell him that it’s a rule of the house that people have to put something on, even if it’s 3:00 am. No argument, that’s just how it is.

My mum sleeps naked when she’s staying at our house and I feel a bit weird about it OP. I would just assume it’s the done thing to wear something in bed when a guest in someone’s house, but reading this thread I can see maybe I’m the weird one!
I would have felt extremely uncomfortable if my step dad slept naked in my house or while my kids were staying with them, but I never caught wind of what he wore in bed so a moot point!
