Thinking of all the victims of the 07 October attacks (and their families and friends).

And the Jewish community everywhere.

I am a genuine poster and I posted this in AIBU for traffic.

I won’t be made to feel bad or guilty about this.

If mumsnet disagree they can delete.

Prayers for all innocents killed in the region on the day and since on both sides

This is about October 7th.

It’s fine to use an anniversary to remember a specific group of people that suffered on that day.

I m with you OP ... thoughts are with all those who suffered on 7 October ... burnt alive, tortured, raped and mutilated... or hostages buried in the ground, starved and abused...they never leave my thoughts.

ThisMachineWillNotCommunicate · 06/10/2026 22:36

Today is October 6th.

Kimmielee · 06/10/2026 23:25

What’s your AIBU?

Today is October 6th.

The eve of October 7th, you’re posting less than 1 & a 1/2 hours before the date.

Remembering all those murdered and taken hostage.

Today is October 6th.

You know that time is different around the world? 🤔

GaryLurcher19 · 07/10/2026 00:43

Aye, OP.

Bless the victims of that atrocity and everyone still affected.

Also remembering the terrible events of that day, and all the days since.

Ratherhaveacupofteaandabiscuit · 07/10/2026 02:17

Agreed OP.
I can't think of another atrocity which has been so overlooked, doubted and excused.
Unbelievable horror.

Oh well in that case I'd like everyone to take a minute to remember the Boer war and a 2 minute silence at 11 for the Crimean war 🙄

Can Jews not just have today? Or do the anti-semites have a problem with that?

I went to see the Nova festival exhibition. I still have nightmares about it.

October 7th was an atrocity and people around the world celebrated it in the streets before Israel had even finished counting their dead.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 07/10/2026 06:53

Remembering the victims of the most barbaric atrocity I’ve ever read about. And remembering the depravity of the criminals and those we saw celebrating them.

Twiglets1 · 07/10/2026 06:55

Thoughts with the Jewish community on this sad anniversary.

It certainly hasn't been overlooked.

It may have been overshadowed since, by the events following. That's on the Israeli government.

But in no way has it been overlooked.

…a blatantly unsuitable place .

Another version of the “Of course you can protest - but not that way” attitudes pushed against any minority that disturbs the status quo by standing up for itself.
