Thinking of all the victims of the 07 October attacks (and their families and friends).

And the Jewish community everywhere.

And I’m a non-Jewish poster. Thinking of Jewish people everywhere today.

I am Muslim and as anti-Netanyahu as they come, but goodness today is about remembering the innocents of 7/10. The terror they must have felt and the horror they experienced. I often think of the poor poor mum of Shani Louk and the memories and flashbacks of her beloved daughter that she must endure daily. Bless all that died and suffered that day, and their families. X

Well said 👏

Diamond82 · 07/10/2026 10:40

Remembering the victims of October 7th, they will never be forgotten. Sending love and peace to their friends and families. Sending strength to the Jewish community as we continue to stand together Am Yisrael Chai

What kind of absolute cunt would be toting a Palestinian /Hamas flag around on Oct 7th?????

Edited to add - I am not Jewish

There’s a lot of them out there.
They have no shame.

1dayatatime · 07/10/2026 10:51

To give some context and for comparison if the 7th October attacks had occurred in say the UK or USA then adjusted for population the figures would have been:

UK: 8250 murdered and 1,750 kidnapped
USA: 41,000 murdered and 8,600 kidnapped

I cannot forget that video of four year old Ariel Bibas running and laughing in his Batman costume. And that his mother Shiri, Ariel and his 9 month month old brother Kfir were brutally murdered in captivity and then releasing just the father Yarden to be haunted for the rest of his life.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 07/10/2026 11:01

I'm not Jewish and don't know any Jewish people, but can see the level of hate towards them. It's terrifying.

Mt ex SIL and my nephew and niece are Israeli and Jewish. My DB is terrified for his children growing up in the UK.

benandholli · 07/10/2026 11:06

Is it true that babies were murdered ?

GunnelVallquist · 07/10/2026 11:10

I’ve had a message from Mumsnet HQ.

I’m guessing because it says ‘reported content’ at the bottom someone has complained?

Hi GunnelVallquist,
We have moved your thread to Chat, where it is more suitably placed. Please, in future, could we ask you not to post in AIBU for traffic unless you have an AIBU. Otherwise it can read as needlessly provocative, which would obviously be seen as grossly offensive on a day like today and run counter to your aim for the thread.
Best wishes,
MNHQ

Today is October 6th.

Today is 7th October.

Curbedenthusiasm · 07/10/2026 11:12

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has paid tribute to "those who were senselessly killed by Hamas terrorists" on 7 October.

"The impact of the attacks has been felt not just in Israel, but in Jewish communities across the world who still bear the burden of the tragic events that day," he says in a social media post.

He says that a "disturbing rise in antisemitic behaviour in the UK" has been observed in the years since the attacks.

"I want Britain’s Jewish community to hear this from me directly. We stand with you. Abuse and violence against you, in any form, will not be tolerated," he says.
"An attack on Jewish people in Britain is an attack on all of us. Antisemitism has no place in this country, and we will do everything we can to stamp it out."

It is good Andy Burnham said that but I do wish he'd also mentioned that anybody marching and flying Hamas flags today are deplorable and should be condemned. Today is for remembering the victims and not about glorifying or flying flags of the perpetrators.

Curbedenthusiasm · 07/10/2026 11:20

The victims of the 7th October 2023 will never be forgotten.

Nor will the atrocities committed by Hamas.

Good point. However, all this hatred seems to be embedded now.

Twigletsnacker · 07/10/2026 11:30

Thinking of the victims and their families too. There were some posters of some of the kidnapped victims up shortly after this attack. The posters were torn down. I wondered what sort of people I was living amongst.

I saw those in London. I saw the pictures of kidnapped children defaced, and slogans written across their faces.
Dark days.

Makes you wonder why @MNHQ don't move all the threads to Chat that are in AIBU for traffic.

Wouldn't take much for a mod to look at AIBU each day and move ones to boards they consider more appropriate.

Absolutely sickening. I have a 2 and 3 year old and I look at them and think, how ? Just fucking how?!

I know, that’s what I was thinking.

There are countless threads on AIBU that aren’t really about that.

And mine was most definitely started with good intentions because there’s more visibility on there and I wanted to let Jewish people that there are decent people around.

Especially today.

Yes. Both on the day itself and later in captivity in Gaza. Their little bodies were handed back in a weird, macabre ceremony.

I understand your reason and yes, posters even admit sometimes that they are "posting for traffic". Threads don't get moved on that basis.

Depraved doesn’t even begin to cover it.

And then you have people proudly waving the flag.

I don’t know what’s wrong with them.
