Thinking of all the victims of the 07 October attacks (and their families and friends).

And the Jewish community everywhere.

Am Yisrael Chai. 🇮🇱

Remembering all the victims needlessly slaughtered and terrorised by Hamas.
an utter tragedy and in my humble opinion, an actual attempt at a genoocide.
Rest in peace to all the dead, and love and strength to everyone else affected.

EasternStandard · 07/10/2026 07:09

I am too, remembering those who were victims of the horrific attacks on the 7th October.

Sorry was this a thread to commemorate the state of Israel? I must’ve missed that.

Lyla82 · 07/10/2026 07:13

Remembering all the Israelis who lost their lives on October 7th. We will never forget them.

What drama? People want to talk about a horrible event that happened.

There were some threads recently remembering the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, I don’t remember disengenous people coming on complaining about all the bombing America did in retaliation, which will no doibt happen on this thread.

I agree it’s unfair that the tiny country of Israel is surrounded by a conglomeration of ME players, Iran, Qatar, Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis all dedicated to the total destruction of a Israel and its people.

Newrumpus · 07/10/2026 07:39

Respectful remembrance and condolences to all of those affected by the horrific massacre.

NancyThompson · 07/10/2026 07:40

I'll be thinking of the victims of the 7 October attacks and their loved ones today.

It certainly hasn't been overlooked.

It may have been overshadowed since, by the events following. That's on the Israeli government.

But in no way has it been overlooked.

People are literally today marching to make October 7th an anniversary of Palestine suffering.

That is the most disgusting colonization and approropriation of another people’s suffering that can be imagined.

How dare you try to pretend October 7th is not being overlooked? There is a deliberate campaign by the hate movement that is antiZionism to erase Jewish suffering from October 7th altogether. It’s happening today, it happened last year, and we can all see it.

Is there a link as I can’t recall this and it looks like it’s contentious so I don’t want to risk googling and my algorithm getting spammed?

May their memory be a blessing.

“It's also fine to use an anniversary to remember the broader conflict…”

Err no, it’s not. No decent person uses 9/11 to remember the many people who subsequently died in the Iraq war. For one day, once a year they simply remember the attack and the victims who died in New York that day.

Oct 7th should be the same. It really shouldn’t be that hard to say, ‘this was a terrible, terrible thing’ and end the sentence there. That’s all you have to do. There are 364 other days to raise awareness of other linked issues.

On October 7th Hamas invaded Israel and targeted citizens in a deliberately sadistic atrocity where they tortured, terrorised and raped civilians. The attacked babies, children, women and men. They slaughtered young people at a music festival. They filmed what they did and live-streamed it, goading families of their victims. The mutilated the bodies of women, repeatedly shooting them in the face and groin to disfigure them. The women who prepared the women’s bodies for burial said not one could be shown to families as they were all so disfigured. They tied parents and xhildren together with wire and set them on fire. They took hostages to Gaza, including babies, children, women, men and the elderly. They did not kill as many people as they could as they took time to torture, rape and terrorise. The most striking thing about the footage is how the terrorists are laughing and enjoying their massacre. The survivors also repeatedly talk of how Hamas were laughing. Huge numbers of Gazan citizens also participated and a mother, baby and her toddler were kidnapped by civilians. Palestinian covilians also looted the homes of massacred families. The Hamas fighters went through Israeli towns shouting ‘where are the Jewish dogs?’ This was a racist massacre.
In the West there were many many people who celebrated this slaughter and I have heard and spoken in real life to such people. People in the west also tore down posters of the hostages.

It’s a shocking case of utter dehumanization of a nation of people.

Say it louder. Going door to door in a kibbutz killing everyone in sight? Now THAT is true genocidal intent. But people are quiet about that.

Also thinking of Kfir and Ariel Bibas who were taken hostage, then murdered in Gaza with their mother to a collective worldwide response of 'meh'. Shameful.

I'm not pretending. It has certainly not been overlooked.

If you can look at what has happened because of that day and think that it has in any way been overlooked, then I have no idea what you are seeing.

I agree it has been overshadowed due to subsequent events, that are directly related. But that just shows how much it has not been overlooked.

It was a horrific event that has lead to further horrific events. I feel for everyone that has been affected by it.

Thinking of Jewish/ Israeli people today.
The stories are unbearable, but they will never be forgotten.

Craftysue · 07/10/2026 08:27

Thoughts with all those affected by the horrific events in Israel 3 years ago. Some of the images and eye witness accounts will never leave me.

toastcrusts · 07/10/2026 08:28

Love and strength to a small and strong minority. The hate, prejudice and violence will be overcome just as it always has throughout history. Thinking of the innocent victims and their families. Am Yisrael Chai 🇮🇱💙

What dishonesty. You are pretending that the existence of the antizionist hate movement is an example of Oct 7th not being overlooked, even though the antizionist movement aims to erase Oct 7th as a day of Jewish suffering. It also seeks to erase the continual attacks on Israel by Hamas and Hezbollah and Houthis since October 7th.

I also note your passive use of ‘horrific events since’ without acknowledging that Hamas committed the atrocities on Oct 7th to cause the war that followed.
