A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Thank you very much @Nuthatch26, love the picture!

Badbadlabs · 29/09/2026 15:18

I did listen to the whole thing - and what did we have - heavily trailed ditching triple lock for national care service, and some minor policies.

I thought at one stage he was going to announce going early because…what’s he going to talk about at the next two conferences before the next GE?

EasternStandard · 29/09/2026 15:19

Haha best pic thank you 😬

I don’t see how that added up to anything at all as he’s set himself the goal of winning the next GE to enact those big changes…

Pretendbafta · 29/09/2026 15:22

What do you “like”?

He can waffle on about scrapping the triple lock to his bonkers back benchers, without ever having to actually do it.

Yes it’s a follow on to the last thread.

This is an extension to a thread already containing 40,000 posts of why Labour are shit!

Badbadlabs · 29/09/2026 15:43

I didn’t see anything on defence except vague assertions about re industrialising, building British etc. I enjoyed it as a speech but thought honestly it was very light on content.

Nuthatch26 · 29/09/2026 15:45

Pretendbafta · 29/09/2026 15:39

Yes because the last thread was full. Link in the OP.

Thanks for answering on defence. I couldn't find anything. Nothing then. Great.

It just would seem that naturally posters would be discussing what he’s discussed but you have no idea!

The content, specifically.

And what did you think of it?

Badbadlabs · 29/09/2026 15:51

I thought there would be a big immediate cost of living…but nada.

i suppose the line saying brexit had hurt growth was the strongest we’ve had on that. Doesn’t amount to a policy though.

electoral reform is a curve but again, he is going to want to run on that…

Pretendbafta · 29/09/2026 15:52

EasternStandard · 29/09/2026 15:51

The speech? Much of a muchness. Ultimately we will all tick along as before. And this would have been the case with pretty much anyone at the helm.

As he keeps he's saying given breathing space with VAT on energy so no need to worry about it anymore until 2030.
