A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Postal vote was also a big thing when I was working away a lot

My colleagues worked away a lot as well, and it was obviously the only way to vote in that situation. So I imagine no one wants to manage the logistics of how to organise who is allowed a postal vote.

Mark Carney has intervened over the potential nationalisation of Thames Water with a warning that it could damage foreign investment in Britain.

Canadian officials are growing increasingly concerned that any decision by Andy Burnham to place Thames Water under state control could result in heavy losses for overseas investors.

That’s two Labour favourites there.

What’s Mark Carney’s angle here?

Are the investors Canadian?

Yes I think due to investment links. I read it thinking why too, but there’s a fair amount invested here in infrastructure.

Canadian pension funds are big investors in UK Infrastructure (and one of them
OMERS used to be a co-owner of Thames)

Carney used to work for Brookfield, another big Canadian investor but stepped down when he became PM

Good morning 😁

Rishi's column on small boats and Rwanda is good in The Times. Sick of hearing Labour's claim that THEY have reduced crossings when they are down across Europe. Over 1700 in the first week of October, and Labour think they've cracked it.

Yebbut the conservatives started this whole mess of dinghy crossing in the UK so excuse me if I'm not impressed.

Merkel sowed the seeds across Europe, Sanchez has no excuse giving 500000 citizenship recently on top of another 600000 who've got in other ways.

The American democrats did the same

What's the matter with the western world. The Russians, Chinese, Arabs think we're barking mad. The EU have finally voted to recognise the Muslim brotherhood as a terrorist organisation. Burnham is sucking his thumb and doing nothing.

The party who tried to force digital ID on us are now trying to reduce ID needed to vote. Bank card with only initials will suffice.
Andy Burnham is rushing through laws to scrap photo ID checks in polling stations amid mounting speculation he will call an early general election, The Telegraph can reveal. The Prime Minister has been accused of “ramming through” the controversial changes, which mean people will be allowed to vote with only a bank card as identification.https://www.telegraph.co.uk/gift/44ef2f33835d64dc

That Bank card will change hands many, many times on the day then. Add in contrived postal votes. We're fooked.

Carney is a weasel, Canada will suffer more under him than they did under Trudeau.

The outright lies that this government tells, and gets its supporters to circulate, about the government’s ’success’ with boat asylum numbers is one of those things that enrages me about Labour. As Sunak points out, the fluctuations in numbers just reflect the same ups and downs in migrants coming through southern Europe. The government has not dissuaded or stopped any (supposed) asylum seekers.

All parties lie and mislead. But Labour would have us believe that they’re truthful and ethical. No, they’re not. They’re as bad as the rest. Except of course the right doesn’t parade itself as virtuous. Labour hypocrisy is unending.

This is the key isn't it. It's the hypocrisy thats so galling.

First para is fighting talk. 😂

Agree with the rest though. At least the lovely Muslim Brotherhood will have a safe haven in the UK. Poor lambs. Confused
