There were lots of programmes recently for the anniversary of 9/11.

I realised that many of my colleagues were either not born when it happened or were so young at the time that they had no memory of it.

Went to the vets last week, walked in and was greeted by someone I assumed was on work experience. Nope, she’s the new, fully qualified vet 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Fortunately I think I hid it well!!

I was watching When Harry Met Sally with my teenage daughters. It was the scene where Billy Crystal is eating grapes and spitting the pips out of the car window. My daughter said "what is he doing?" I said he's spitting out the pips and she said, "What are the pips?" I thought blimey, she had only ever known seedless grapes.

I was teasing my younger colleague about always being on holiday, I told him he took more holidays than Judith Chalmers - he had no idea what I was talking about.

My son, who was a newborn at the time, said his friends were pointing out that he was the only one alive during 9/11

A friend sent me a meme saying that Dirty Dancing came out in 1987 and was set in 1963.

If it was made today it would be set in 2002.

When my kids told me they "did Live Aid in history". I was bloody well there!!!

I had a similar experience when I actually had to go into the bank and talk to someone. The advisor looked ( and probably was) young enough to be my son.

When i found out my boss was too young to remember 9/11. When I commented that we had customer called Alice Cooper the same boss said 'who's that?' I suppode should be grateful didn't say 'who's she?'

My husband loves making me feel by mentioning how many years ago my favourite films or favourite songs came out.

My mind boggles at that now because I remember that film coming out and 1963 seemed like some bygone era whereas 2005 seems like yesterday viewed from today.

I work at a university... It's bad enough realising that the students are young enough to be my children, but a few colleagues too.. (a scary thought when my own DC are only primary-age!).

Yet the weird paradox of them dressing eerily similarly to me in the 90s (and that a comparison would be people who were teenagers in the 60s thinking the same about me then!)

What a great character actor though but when you realise the last episode aired in 2000 but it feels like yesterday, it is a bit sobering.

I don't ever feel old actually but I was playing Headbands with a young person I work with & I picked Kylie Minogue for him. We got it down to Australian female singer, was an actress. It transpired he'd never heard of her,!

I was doing a presentation and I said to my daughter, "I need to do the flip chart" and she said, "What's a flip chart?" I thought blimey, I am out of date.

Any conversation about how I started (Saturday job) work at 14 and when I left home used to write letters to my parents because phone calls were too expensive etc etc.
