The whistle blower was very well reported recently so look it up. It's lucky we have whistleblowers in government organisations such as immigration, the NHS etc otherwise many things simply would never come to light.

I stay in a tiny coastal town in Scotland, and I've never known the like of this. Influx of young men walking around aimlessly in joggers and sliders. Homeless housing applications are sky rocketing across Scotland, BBC reported today that 50% of those applicants are asylum seekers. Its just incredible.

I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand so quickly. If you think about it, there could conceivably be a war if Putin carries on with his threats to the eastern countries of NATO. We are being warned all the time. Obviously that would mean a land war. The UK is responsible for defending one of the border countries (I forget which one..Estonia I think). We have a tiny army so if there is a war there may be conscription fairly quickly. Obviously an asylum seeker is not a British citizen so presumably wouldn't be called up and there's now significantly more asylum seekers than the standing Britsih army.

Tbf they did rather put themselves in tbe position of needing taxpayer funded clothing. Or clothing funded by people who donate to the RNLI without anticipating their donation would be used in this particular way.

I think people should be helped if they need assistance through no fault of their own. If someone intentionally puts themselves in the position of needing dry clothes because they have got on a boat to sneak into a country illegally they really need to sort themselves out.

Remember only 1% are genuine asylum seekers. The rest are economic migrants.

Edit..oh you tacked on that last nasty comment. I give very generously to the RNLI and have for many years. Im horrified that they are being used in this way. And I personally wouldn't need their help because Id been infiltrating a country illegally.

A really tiny proportion of small boats carrying migrants are landed in England by the RNLI. I believe that over 95% of those that arrive are actually landed by Border Force.

Of course the RNLI's main purpose is to save lives at sea! Who do you think rescues the many swimmers and people on trawlers, pleasure boats, etc. who get in difficulties in the water day in, day out?

Once people are in the water the priority must be getting them safely to the nearest shore.

There are international LAWS we must abide by when it comes to asylum seekers, we CANNOT just turn the boats around and send them back!

They don't actually need to set foot in the UK though. They could be returned to the safe country they set sail from. Or be put on a larger boat to be processed. It's when they get to the UK that the lawfare starts and the fact that they are then let out into society which, causing great cost and having such a destabilising effect on the UK.
