This is the police escort for the latest small boat arrivals at Gosport tonight. What on earth is going on with this country? I don’t know how to link a video from Twitter. The videos show the full extent of the operation.

This small boats crisis needs to end, winter is coming and the weather will get extremely hazardous for crossings. We need to start processing the refugees at Calais and bringing them over safely on Royal Navy ships. On the journey we can ascertain who they are and assign them to different wards up and down the country to spread them out efficiently and evenly, so that no one place is burdened too heavily.

We also need to start investing in creating new towns and cities in the Northwest in Cumbria and Northumberland in the Northeast to deal with the flow. The climate crisis is only going to fuel a bigger need for sanctuary and we need to be amongst the primary nations to do our part.

Be more specific. What does respecting their host country mean? Pretty sure I have different values to you, whose values should they be respecting? Are they supposed to go to church (and if so, which one), join the Women's Institute, bow down to the Royal family, support a football team, drink tea, watch Coronation Street and Eastenders, learn Shakespeare plays, love David Attenborough? What are our British values because, to me, it's not about treating people so hostilely and being happy for them to drown in the Channel.

I'm pretty fucked off with the way women are still treated by some British men TBH. How about some outrage about that?

I'm happy with people who come lawfully and with documentation so we know who they are and where they have come from. That said, even Afghan refugees who came over (legally) in the aftermath of the Taliban taking back control there were treating their womenfolk badly in London and were surprised when told to toe the line by the British police. I do not want men coming here who have no idea how to behave. We have enough of our own like the murderer of Sarah Everard.

But we also have a lot of unemployment so do we actually need immigration at all? There will be a few specific jobs and careers such as caring but for the rest people can be trained. But employers are too lazy and all they see is profit. They don't want to waste money training people when they can import them from overseas.

I agree that British women still have a long way to go to achieve equality. Have you spent some time campaigning about that as it seems so important to you?

My family were Anglo Indian, they had British passports once India became independent. It didn't stop them being treated like pariahs and being spat at in the street and called names I can't type here. That's why I don't believe the 'I only have a problem with illegals' brigade'.

I am rather suspicious that those bandying the term “Nazi” about and talking of Hitler are not particularly friendly towards Jewish people. In fact if I could be bothered to do a forensic examination of, for example, the Jewish ambulances attack in London thread, then I imagine we might well find a few of the posters minimising that yelling about Hitler on this thread.

How many hoops have you had to jump through to reach that conclusion?
No right minded thinking decent human being would have anything but contempt for those who carried out such an abhorrent attack.
