Feeling lots of sympathy for Andy Burnham today. When you lose a parent to something as hideous as dementia, there's a lot of difficult feelings.

DuncinToffee · Yesterday 15:20

Very thoughtful condolences from Badenoch, Davey and Polanski

Pleased there's still an element of human decency in UK politics. Not sure that Trump would have the good grace to extend that to one of his opponents in similar circumstances.

TemperanceWest · Yesterday 15:42

Badenoch's was rather lovely.

Notonthestairs · Yesterday 15:53

Yes, nice to see the decency on show. Seem to recall they were also v decent when Starmer’s brother died. I suppose grief is a universal experience.

Having lost DM to vascular dementia (right as rain to dead in 3 years) it is a terrible thing.

Also lost today, is irony. It put up a brave fight, but ultimately succumbed to the weight of the world

Very sad for the Burnham family. I note no words from Fartage.

£72 million buys you a lot of humanity, clearly.

Suspect you have to pay him to make statements.

Thanks for the new thread.

Cat tax to sum up feelings about world news at the moment.

"I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty-headed animal food trough wiper! I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!"

PMK. Thanks for new thread . Tax later hopefully.

Sad news about Burnham Sr. Sounds like he was so proud of his son.

He is too busy spewing hate on X. A lovely video about how he has always been right, that we are being invaded and that we need to wake up. Really nasty stuff.

Thanks for the thread Duncin, flower tax as per.

A Restore councillor posted pictures of 'foreigners' in an Asda car park. Then had to apologise after learning they are agricultural workers. He still doubled down though, obviously . Coming over here, taking white people's jobs...

The email to my paid councillor has engendered them to reply on a face book post. I was not alone and they had over a hundred who wrote.

The topic? Remove the flags from the lamp posts.

The flags are going to be removed. Small win but it feels great.

We've had some posts in the local FB pages about flags looking "blummin' lovely" [sic]

To very little public support, it has to be said.

My sympathy for the Burnham family as well. Dementia is such a barstard illness.

My Dad had vascular dementia too and died 19yrs ago yesterday. He was an incredibly intelligent man and it was awful to see him lose his memory.

Thanks for the new thread. Mostly in lurk mode, lately but I have gnarly tree tax.

Reminds of the whomping willow in HP!
