In our area we have two marinas and four golf courses. They were once busy places. Now with the costs of berthing, the costs of membership fees, they're all struggling. The marinas are half empty, golf club bars never mind the greens quiet.

Once upon a time folks took up hobbies when the kids were grown and they had disposable income. I don't think that's true anymore. Disposable income has shrunk tremendously.

I saw some footage of SOME Israelis hounding a Palestinian family off the land they were living on (there was no culture of land ownership in Palestinian life, and many settlements are still on ‘vacant’ land) and whilst those type of incidents are unfortunate that doesn’t make the whole country guilty enough for sanctions to be warranted.
Surely diplomacy and asking for that type of activity to be policed would have been more appropriate.
But if that had been tried and failed, surely we should be told that to have a full understanding.

Yet more utter shite aimed at the left of Labour. He can’t possibly hold to this because the markets will destroy him if they think there’s a genuine refusal to cut spending in any meaningful way. He can’t borrow further to fund defence or anything else.

What will happen is that government lackeys will go about saying it’s all a misunderstanding and Burnham’s really jolly prudent with the future of spending…while Burnham makes no correction and carries on lying to the left.

There will be cuts because they are unavoidable.
