Guess my age

No this isn't going to be one of those threads where I post a photograph and ask you to say how old you think I look.

I just thought for a bit of fun for anyone who like me has too much time on their hands, I would post a few facts about myself and see if you can guess my age.

I will post odd random facts over the next day, then tell you my age tomorrow.

This is a new user name, in case I have mentioned my age in previous post.

Fact 1) My mother used to wear dresses made of crimplene.

Fact 2) My father used to ride a bike and wore cycle clips to stop his trousets from getting caught in the cycle chain.

I think your first house must’ve been MASSIVE and you’re 84. I’m basing this on the TV clue 😁

I know a lot of families bought their first TV around fhe time of the late Queen’s coronation, so if that was the case that would make you born in around 1948

my guess is 67. I am 77 and was thinking you were about my age until you mentioned the price of your first house. I also wore crimplelene dresses - I made them myself on my mums sewing machine.

Sounds like your parents were a similar age to my grandparents.

So I'm going to split the difference between my mum and dad and say 81 and a bit.

But that would have your mum in early 40’s when she had you which was unusual in those days. Oh I’m confused!

I agree the house must have been relatively expensive, my parents were a similar age I'd think and they were buying houses in the early and mid 1970s for £2.5k and £8k.

82 - as my mum’s parents were born not long after WWI ended and she is 79 this year

I would say 81.
