A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour* *government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

He genuinely thinks he’s pulled it off, in the dying minutes of extra time.

That’s an Arsenal fan for you.

WaffleBomb · 11/05/2026 10:35

He's banging on about tories changing leaders? It was him calling for them to resign! Twat.

The clapping is manic.

Listened to a question and yeh what’s with that? Clapping madly to override hardly anyone
voting for them. It’s bizarre.

WaffleBomb · 11/05/2026 10:34

I forgot about her. Did she win?

I believe she did.

EasternStandard · 11/05/2026 10:45

He’s just saying the same stuff that made people vote for everyone else.

Loading up with more isn’t going to help.

Pyongyang style.

Hallowedturf · 11/05/2026 10:50

Light blue touch paper, and retire….

Upstartled · 11/05/2026 10:51

Loud clapping and grim faces. Tells you everything about the performance.

Upstartled · 11/05/2026 10:52

And he didn't mention the word growth once.

redange · 11/05/2026 10:53

If I was the chairman of Arsenal I would ban him from the Stadium! I have always hated 'Arsenal' but having Starmer as a poster boy good god.
Arsenal fans make Manchester Utd fans Humble. At least Utd and Man City my team actually win things Arsenal are going to scrape the league this year not because they are any good but because (City are not right) Any coincidence's there Kier ! Secondly I have never ever wanted any English team to lose in any Euro Final before I sincerely hope PSG put 4 past 1-0 to to the ARSENAL.

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 11/05/2026 10:56

When you have to stage ‘rapturous’ applause you’re either directing an ITV variety show or arranging a begging session by Starmer to keep his job.

He really should just go. To pretend that having him in place is a service either to the country or to his party is fatuous.

Any word from Catherine West?

We’re at staged level, it’s really not looking good.

He used all his old pre GE lines.

WaffleBomb · 11/05/2026 11:00

Another Labour MP has come out calling for the PM to resign - straight after the speech.
That went well then.

Ian Byrne has put a statement out. And they want to avoid psychodrama?!

Rosie Duffield on twitter saying they couldn't give tickets away for that.

Throwing his toys out of the pram because he wants Burnham probably.

Yeah. I did think that was the undertone.

Hallowedturf · 11/05/2026 11:06

Gilts not liking the speech.

10 year heading back to 5%

I thought the EU bit might have been for them, perhaps no dice.

I read a great observation that Labour MPs who want ‘a timetable’, ‘an orderly transition’ etc are marked as Burnham fans. There are plenty of them among the Labour MPs so far breaking cover.

Given that Streeting is gearing up, and that he’s perceived as being a Blairite, everything’s shaping up nicely for a vicious Labour civil war.

Yes absolutely. Timetable = Burnham

I think predominantly a function of Starmer’s tenure and potential replacement.

As to the EU - has he contemplated Brussel’s appetite for getting into bed with a dead government walking? Doubt that….

Upstartled · 11/05/2026 11:11

I don't think I can keep listening to him. It is like being pummeled relentlessly by acoustic greige. Before I know it, I'm reaching for a bag of salt and vinegar crisps before the sensory deprivation sinks me.

I really can only do a few seconds. It’s just rehashed drone.
