I think JD is using the best language he can find to distance himself from this - not much.

Honestly, no time for the Iranian regime, but what did they do for all this shite to happen? Not give in I suppose - not hand their oil over - I’m not sure why anyone thinks they’re not behaving as any other country may do irrelevant to the regime anyway.

I can't believe that on BBC news they were actually discussing Trump's possible use of nuclear weapons, legality etc. The fact that this is not dismissed immediately shows that people think there's a possibility, however slim, that this madman will do it. Also mentioned whether armed forces will comply with such instructions. We can all live in hope.

This thread started 31/3/26, 7days ago. I think our previous one set the record for shortest time at 10 days. Not really a record I'm looking forward to breaking.

BUT the deadline is 1 am UK time and who knows what's going to happen. I hate (once again) to be Debbie Downer but think at the rate things are going, we may want a new thread sometime this evening UK time in case he hasn't TACO'd by then in anticipation of the shit actually hitting the fan in the middle of the (UK) night. Or is that inviting bad juju?

My big fear is that he's backed himself so firmly into a corner with the whole world watching that his ego simply won't allow him to TACO. He knows that he and his family will be safely stashed away somewhere and he doesn't give a shit about the rest of the world. He's a little kid who's going to kick over that Lego tower because the kid who built it won't do what he says.

This is all terrifying.

If he goes ahead at 8pm doesn't he see that Iran are going to absolutely go full on and attack everything within reach?

People in the gulf countries must be out of their minds with anxiety during all this.

As long as he is safe and he doesn't lose money he doesn't care one itty bitty bit what happens. The rest of the world can go to hell as far as he's concerned.

He doesn't have one ounce of human decency in his body.

I still in my instincts believe in him backing out: but logically, using my head,and seeing how far he's gone up the hill, the fact the Irainians don't have a reason to open SoH yet,and the utter impotence Donald would rightly feel,I can see him escalating (especially as the Israelis are really trying to egg him on):scares me not as I think it'll be nuclear, but the impact economically and socially here in Europe (beyond the human devastation in the region,which i know is taken as read on this thread)

I don't think nukes are on the table but I am concerned, as Across said, that he's backed himself into a corner and so bombing Iranian infrastructure is very much still on the table.
