The King of Crazytown Can't Control The Chaos - Trump Thread #159

Spandauer · 31/03/2026 17:54

“Whether you’re a military analyst or a political analyst, whether you’re in the Democratic or Republican party, there’s a reality here. Donald Trump has met the moment of truth. The kind of fictional life that he’s led and evoked over the last four or five decades has now been unmasked as a deadly drama. It’s going to cost the lives of so many people. It’s going to devastate the US economy and the regional economy. It’s going to set back America and its standing in the world. It’s a horrific moment.”
Larry Jacobs, director of the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the University of Minnesota.

Are the personnel getting prepped to ‘rain hellfire’ right now - I guess they don’t just jump in and go at the last minute

And what would happen if they do this? I know the other ME countries don’t much care for Iran but are they on board with this? The numbers of refugees they’d potentially get - the impact on their countries
What is after?
Guess I’m expecting a TACO and guess I’m thinking farther ahead than Trump anyhow!

An ozz mate updated me on a story we follow. This one. Email out ? Or too late ? The planes will be in the air ?

Australian SAS veteran Ben Roberts-Smith charged with war crime murders in Afghanistan | World News | Sky News

The last US personnel tried for war crimes was in 2019.

One was acquitted, the other two pardoned by Scrotus. I'm surprised he hasn't already said that he will pardon any serviceperson who ends up convicted if charges result from any actions carried out tonight.

Well, I guess he can't really say that now. It would be tantamount to admitting he knows, or at least suspects, that he's ordering illegal actions. But just like the Jan 6 insurrectionists, I'm sure a pardon promise will be forthcoming if he sees any benefit to it. Otherwise I'm sure he'll disavow any knowledge.

He's treating this as he would treat the takeover of a company via 'asset stripping'. The difference is that people's lives, not just their livelihoods, are at stake. And whilst chances are if it doesn't work he can walk away with little more than egg on this face and a bruised ego, that decimated country and its populace will suffer for decades if not generations. Another reason that a business mentality doesn't work in government.

Am I the only one who watches the morning news through slightly partly fingers?Every day there's a new horror story. It's hideous; Cod only knows what it's like for the poor souls actually living in this nightmare.

I watch it with a finger on the mute button.

It's a long way. The F15 that crashed was from Lakenheath. 4 hours I think. The B1s are in Oxfordshire, the B52s in Diego Garcia, similar distance.

Oh, and on the domestic front:

https://www.cnn.com/2026/04/07/politics/georgia-special-election-results-shawn-harris-clay-fuller-marjorie-taylor-greene?utm_source=cnn_Five+Things+for+Tuesday%2C+April+7%2C+2026&utm_medium=email&bt_ee=RgUdhcdGaCZO5RjtTyWVD8Sqm0JErA%2B%2BmucwWuAz5LASXtxMWg0%2FFnBh56iCRN8A&bt_ts=1775559545263

Today is the special election to determine who will take MTG's seat. The Dem is a real long shot in this conservative and MAGA district and I'm not holding my breath. But even a 'close' defeat in this district will mean something to the Dem Party considering that MTG won in 2024 by 30 percentage points. At any rate, both the Dems and the GOP are watching this one very closely wrt any 'presaging' of the midterms.

MTG didn't back a candidate. Scrotus backed Fuller. It will be interesting to see if his endorsement helps, hurts, or does nothing for Fuller.

How the House GOP majority will be affected by Tuesday’s special election for Marjorie Taylor Greene’s old seat | CNN Politics

A Democrat’s bid to pull off a major upset Tuesday in former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s ruby-red Georgia district will be closely watched by national Republicans trying to maintain a razor-thin House majority.

Let's not forget that Hegseth came to Trump's attention by lobbying for those pardons.

Looks like absolutely routine continuation training to me - one or two instrument approaches and then a series of probably visual circuits at Mildenhall.

@Spandauer we're going to need a new thread by teatime. That's teatime UK, about an hour and a half from now. 🫖☕️🍪

There's already a whole thread on Flightradar in the aftermath of Storm Dave. That and the other website (forgot the name. ) pick up military flights too

BBC Breaking News - The White House denies considering using nuclear weapons in Iran.

Lalgarh · 07/04/2026 15:51

By the way there's also flights round coastlines to mark the 90th anniversary of the Spitfire.

And RAF display Vulcans currently flying about Peterborough

Whatever your views on the monarchy or the Government, you'd have to feel for the K+Q right now. I think a fake illness could and should happen, no need for us, our Government or HOS to legitimise this madman with empty gestures. For what end?

I certainly don't think Charles should go ahead with this trip but I also don't think he should feign illness. It would be far better if Trump just gets told that a royal visit is just not appropriate in the current climate.

Think this is genuine.

BREAKING: Extraordinary scenes as Iranian citizens start forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites.

This is Kazerun Power Plant in Fars province, southern Iran

(🎥 i24 News)

This is the scene on the White Bridge in Ahvaz, Iran

A human chain of adults and children spanning the bridge.

Never seen anything like it.

(🎥 Ariel Oseran)

Residents of Tabriz form a human chain in front of the city's thermal power plant to prevent it from being targeted.

Reports circulating that regime forces are driving through Iranian cities with loud speakers telling citizens to gather around infrastructure.

Bravery? Coercion?

For info that's not a Vulcan, there are non flying.

Usual re not supporting the regime.

RedTagAlan · 07/04/2026 16:04

This just now. And I know we don't talk politics here, not that sort, but FFS Starmer. Pull your fucking finger our your arse. If you wont, then fucking resign.

"Downing Street won't comment on US using UK bases to bomb Iranian civilian infrastructure
Downing Street has refused to say whether the UK would prevent the US from potentially using British assets for attacks on Iranian infrastructure.
The UK previously granted the US permission to use British military bases, including Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean and RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, for "defensive" strikes on Iranian missile sites.
But the debate has continued throughout the war and has been reenergised over Donald Trump's threats to bomb civilian targets, like Iranian power plants.
Asked whether the government would stop UK assets from being used for attacks on infrastructure, the PM's official spokesman said: "We won't be providing a running commentary on allies' operations, including their use of bases.
"Just to point out that our position on this hasn't changed.""

Good point.
But he still needs to get himself there. He still needs to "ask" for the money. And his citizens are not terrified enough not to demonstrate in public.

Edited

Oh, sweet summer child.

He already has the money. Stroke of an executive order and all federal funds go where the president says so. After all as we have seen who is going to stop him ?

And since the president cannot act illegally when they are acting as president ... well that's that then.

It’s the regime’s fault using civilians - see Hamas for precedent that it’s just collateral caused by the nasty rulers (not my words) - if he’s listening to Netanyahu especially - is Netanyahu onboard with this? I have no good words for him except he’s a bit less insane.

Though Trump doesn’t seem to like lots of dead people - well he didn’t used to.

Vance, from Hungary.

“We’ve got tools in our toolkit that we so far haven’t decided to use. The president of the United States can decide to use them. And he will decide to use them if the Iranians don’t change their course of conduct,” Vance told reporters in Hungary earlier Monday.

dapsnotplimsolls · 07/04/2026 13:37

I apologise if this has been discussed many times before. The army oath swears to uphold the Constitution and obey the orders of the President. What's the legal situation if the armed forces feel that the orders of the President go against the Constitution?

As far as SCOTUS are concerned the President cannot act illegally. Therefore he can't contravene the constitution since that is an illegal act.

Join the dots folks.

Treating it like a fucking football match - though yeah I will be tuning in - it’s so awful - and so unbelievable.

Maybe we are after all in a matrix type universe and the adults got bored of the controls and gave them their pissed up teen kids.

He seems to have no qualms about dead others.

Is it not time for speaker of the house etc to march in?
