The trouble with US regime change is that the "a big boy did it and ran away" defence doesn't make Vance look too good.
Either as VP he was involved in the decision to attack Iran so he agreed with it.
Or he wasn't informed. Makes him look irrelevant.
Or he was informed, objected and was ignored.
