Are you tired of the never-ending dismal weather?

I am. In West Yorkshire we've hardly seen any sunshine this year so far. It's been mainly low cloud, mist, fog, drizzle and persistent rain since early January. Last night, for a change, we had wet snow for about two hours so that was mildly exciting. I don't mind it being cold as such as it is winter, after all. But the greyness is so dispiriting. Where are the bright chilly days with blue sky and sunshine - with a hint of warmth?

Join me if you too are experiencing dull weather in your area.

It is pretty awful - I'm in London and I'm very glad that in a small gap between rainy days we got some roof repairs done a few weeks ago and discovered that what we thought was a small leak from a chimney that wasn't capped properly was actually a massive hole in the roofing felt next to it, that they fixed same day. And it's been even heavier rain since - without that repair I think we might have had the ceiling of our spare room fall in!

Yesterday was glorious! I even put some washing out to dry. Today im just back from a 2 hour run in cold torrential rain! I feel like im constantly trying to dry out my shoes...ready for them to get drenched again

I would love just one sunny crisp day this half term!

The sun is out here in the Midlands this morning. Cold though!

Sun was out yesterday morning here in the south east. Then about lunch time we had hailstones!
Then rained all afternoon, today sun is out again.

Tomorrow is 1st March which means meteorological Spring. I admit not knowing the difference between that and the other Spring that starts in about three weeks.

I spent yesterday outside tidying up and clearing the greenhouse out. I’m a new woman.

We’ve had some lovely days recently - I have actually been motivated to get out and do some well overdue jobs in the garden. (Outer SW London).

And a dd visited yesterday and for the first time this year we sat outside in the sun - it was really warm.

Rather grey and dismal again today though, heigh ho….

I had a lovely day walking in the Peak District Wednesday and actually ate my lunch outside yesterday. It's dull today but I'm glad it's coolas I'm shifting 2000kg of gravel.

Pissing down here again.

Snow on the ground in the morning…nice Spring-like afternoon where I am in Scotland 🤷‍♀️

Westfacing · 06/03/2026 15:43

This time yesterday it was sunny and 18 degrees in London - right now it's raining and 9 degrees!

I had a 2hr bike ride in a t-shirt yesterday afternoon - my 4th (and longest) ride in the past 2 weeks - plenty of dull and drizzly days in between but glad I took the opportunities when they came up - you can't dilly dally and waste the chances.
