Feeling pants today so I had omelette and chips

Halloumi and aubergine souvlaki flatbreads with sun-dried tomato tapenade and tzatziki

That sounds like bloody heaven

mismomary · 08/01/2026 20:22

Chippy tea! First in months.

WimpoleHat · 08/01/2026 20:25

Roast chicken with trimmings. Not usually a midweek meal, but am fed up of January already.

FuckingShitShow · 08/01/2026 20:34

@80smonster like @Negroany said, I couldn't see tomatoes in the recipe either. Where do you add them?

Moltenpink · 08/01/2026 20:36

Had a lamb mince and orzo bake, finished off with feta and pomegranate seeds (from Hello Fresh). It was a good winter’s night dinner.

ButtonMoonMrsSpoon · 08/01/2026 20:52

A huge bowl of coco pops

ToddlerMumma · 08/01/2026 21:00

Pigs in blankets, Yorkshire pudding, carrots, brocoli, Brussel sprouts and gravy

Negroany · 08/01/2026 18:55

It doesn't seem to have tomatoes in it?

It has tomato puree listed. I use tinned cherry toms instead, just because I prefer it that way.

@80smonster like @Negroany said, I couldn't see tomatoes in the recipe either. Where do you add them?

It lists tomato puree, but I prefer to use a tin of cherry toms, it gives you a chunky tomato sauce instead. Both are very nice.

Homemade chicken tikka curry tonight

cherrymauve · 08/01/2026 21:20

A glass of milk. And off to bed.
Just got in and I’m too tired to eat or cook.
I will have a lovely lunch tomorrow instead…probably the black bean bake up thread.

Roast chicken with stuffing balls, pigs in blankets, yorkshire puds, cauliflower cheese, sprouts & gravy

We always buy more food than four families of our size really need over Christmas but all leftovers go in the freezer and we have an austere start to the year eating our way through the freezer and cupboards to partially offset the overspend of Christmas!

Everything apart from the sprouts came out of the freezer 💪🏻

(As an indication of my ridiculous over-catering I pre-made and froze 100 stuffing balls - 50 chestnut & pear, 50 apricot & pistachio - for our Christmas dinner for 5. We'll prob still be eating them in May 😂)

Oh, right. I was bewildered!

Louisetopaz21 · 08/01/2026 22:13

Pork, onions, mushrooms, garlic, noodles, soy sauce and oyster sauce

80smonster · 09/01/2026 07:02

Negroany · 08/01/2026 22:11

Oh, right. I was bewildered!

I also use a can of cannellini beans and a can black beans, expect your mind is totally blown now. 😂

MsSquiz · 09/01/2026 07:05

We had the body coach’s chicken pie with added sweetcorn and a pile of green beans, asparagus and broccoli on the side

Sexnotgender · 08/01/2026 17:49

Yum! Adding that to the list of new recipes to try.

We find it makes enough for two days (it reheats like a dream), especially if you pad out with tortillas, guacamole etc.

80smonster · 09/01/2026 09:43

Does everyone know about this recipe? Possibly not the most protein packed, it’s my favourite thing to eat when I’m ill: https://blythesblog.com/recipe/chile-crisp-fettuccini-alfredo-with-spinach/?print
It’s another NYT recipe - their food content is very heavily gated, which is why I keep posting blog links instead.

The creamy and subtly spicy Chile Crisp Fettuccini Alfredo with Spinach is outstandingly good. This recipe will be on repeat.

OP - have you ever tried red lentil pasta? I buy the fusilli one from Tescos and it’s really nice. Made from 100% lentils. Might be an easy swap.

madaboutpurple · 09/01/2026 10:03

I reckon it will be macaroni cheese as it good comfort food and will warm us up.
