A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Merry Christmas GIF

Good tidings and cheer to you all.

(See you on the other side.)

Boohoo76 · 24/12/2025 12:37

Merry Christmas everyone! I don’t comment much but I read all your posts and very much appreciate the reasonableness and common sense. It gives me respite from some of the other crazy threads that are out there!

I’ve just come back from a No. 10 nativity play. Starmer played Joseph.

Unfortunately, he was barred by the innkeeper, the ox and ass were dragged away by an angry farmer, and the Magi turned round and went home in case their gifts were made subject to a wealth tax.

Happy Christmas fellow sensible non-Labour folk!

38thparallel · 24/12/2025 13:18

@DenizenOfAisleOfShame Love it!

A very happy Christmas to you all.

EasternStandard · 24/12/2025 13:52

Haha @DenizenOfAisleOfShame

Merry Christmas lovely people

Thank you for the laughs and a place of sanity so we can get through this lot together.

Have a lovely day

Merry Christmas all. Been dry busy with the usual Christmas rush but I am here and checking in.

We were at a local panto last night, lots of Labour jokes a la Starmer being a donkey and Reeves being a wicked tax collector.

Upstartled · 24/12/2025 17:56

Merry Christmas! Hope everyone has a good one tomorrow. Just made a pavlova (tell me you live with a Kiwi with saying you live with a Kiwi) and I'm practically organised with just a bit of mad wrapping scheduled for when the youngest goes to bed.

Sounds like my kind of panto @CaveMum!

Merry Christmas Everybody,
Dealing, with Dear Niece's No 1 Mental Problems today as i have said earlier, relationship with her Mother/Father and siblings has completely broken down. She has not seen them for a year, despite having regular 'physical' contact with me and I am trying to get her to come with us to Lincolnshire to see her parents and siblings on the 27th this Saturday. She is as 'cheeky' as ever and despite being a 'nob' because she was the first child/grandchild, i have a very close bond nearly as much as i do to my own. I might have to 'bribe' her to go to Lincolnshire, but I am daft enough to do it (though if i do do it, Sister and Brother In Law will probably fall out with me). She, has got her eye on the 4th 'unused' car that DH bought on a whim for 'DD 1 who is only 16. This, in order to 'impress' his mate who was buying his 20 year DD a Car at the same time. Stupid men playing 'Top Trumps' . This also from a man in charge of a Southern Section of a Generational business that will be making 25 people redundant in the new year and could be Insolvent if business drops 15-20% in 2026 which is quite Possible ?. Then, what 'big bollocks' give the Bank the Deeds for the house and borrow big on it to continue trading.

I have just had a huge row with DH, away from the 'Children' who are all out playing Happy families with their 'Brilliant' and talented 'Cousin'

Anyway at times like this these two You Tube songs are brilliant if in to Soul Music but the words on both of these songs are so correct about the state of the UK today. The first is about the Declaration Of independence and the duty of the people to 'Abolish' or throw out a Government that does not govern in its people's interests. 1

I only wish the 'bully' of a Bodyguard found a landlord bigger than him and see him be manhandled and see what 'Starmer' would be like if he was actually not protected . Could, Starmer actually have shown some 'respect' to the landlord to avoid being hurt !

LupaMoonhowl · 25/12/2025 15:15

Thank you!!

EmeraldRoulette · 25/12/2025 17:21

I'm home! (had our Main meal yesterday because reasons). I live around the corner so glad to be home already.

thank goodness for no ill health issues, although I suppose it's technically Christmas day so we could still have that. That's seven Christmases in a row with an elderly mother. So, yeah. Very glad to be home!

TheNuthatch · 25/12/2025 19:48

Merry Christmas 🎅

Glad you're home and all is well with your DM Emerald. Yes I'm in the bathroom away from the chaos for 5 mins. 😂
Hope everybody's had a nice day.
I cooked a traditional xmas dinner for 12 today. I got lots of compliments and most had seconds so I think it was a success.
Looking forward to all the leftovers tomorrow (best bit).
I think I forgot to put glycerin in the royal icing on my cake though, its a tad crumbly, oh well.

I adore pavlova @Upstartled <chefs kiss>. I didn't know it was a kiwi thing.

Right, back to it. Enjoy xx🍷

EmeraldRoulette · 25/12/2025 19:59

@TheNuthatch I have never done that and I could not cope with the stress of it

I'm impressed

I didn't even know that there was glycerin in icing!

Upstartled · 25/12/2025 22:02

Well the Kiwis and the Aussies have beef over who gets pavlova bragging rights but, yeah, it's a thing. It's a pretty good thing though and a bit more forgiving than pudding after a big Christmas dinner.

Well done with your feast @Nuthatch. We have our big hosting stint in a couple of days when the wider family visits but it's not as much pressure as on the big day.

Glad you've got through the days without an emergency @EmeraldRoulette, wishing you a peaceful run of it.

EmeraldRoulette · 25/12/2025 22:29

@Upstartled thanks

I had no idea there was all this Pavlova drama!

I've just had a bit of a rant on another thread about Christmas. It now hasn't been too bad the last couple of years, but I still really hate it.

I was trying to not complain about stuff, so I think a complaint online at the end of Christmas Day is not too bad!

So glad it's all over.

Reeves’s job taxes trigger biggest hiring slump in the G7

Clear data showing how Labour is killing off the jobs market with punitive taxation and legislation - and above inflation minimum wage increases. Slow clap for the engineered hiring slump.

Hello all, had a really busy week and almost lost the new thread!

I see that Labour SLT's public Christmas rejoicing largely revolves around the return of Jew hater Alaa Abd El-Fattah, which has apparently been their top priority.
