I bloomin hate IOS 26 , anyone else

And is there any way of changing it back . Like a klutz I gaily accepted the update but for the first time ever I loathe the changes .
My photos have been put into categories I don’t want . I hate the google search options , I hate the weird glass interface . I want my old phone back .

Have you checked your battery health on iPad Pro, mine has been draining for a while but that is because it is 82 % and 4 years old, iirc it had done about 1120 cycles ,so nothing to do with new iOS as it was 85% last summer. I may get the battery replaced when it's 80%

@ÚlldemoShúl if you press and hold whilst on lock screen you can go into customise then press on the clock, you can change from glass to solid and also change the size, font and colour

I’ve had a notification that iOS 26.2.1 is ready to install. Does anyone know if it’s even worse? I still have time to disable the scheduled update.

I just checked and it’s available for me too. I’m going to go for it then I’ll report back if I see any difference at all. Surely the battery usage and lagging can’t get worse. 🙈

So far no lagging but it wasn’t constant before so I’ll need some time to see if it’s properly changed.

Mine updated again the other night.
Edited because I wrote a whole thing about the new annoying calendar then realised I’d been using my mac! 🙄

Is this phone or ipad? Mine on my phone hasn't changed like that at all, putting a new event in is exactly the same as before and start and end times are clearly displayed when you click on the event again.

I’ve put it off for the last week or so but it keeps popping up so it will do it tonight

My battery has gone down 8% in the last hour while constantly playing games. Definitely an improvement. The way it was before would have been around double that or more in the same time.

I’m really hard on phone batteries with my usage so my battery health isn’t the best anyway but it was ridiculous after the 26.2 update. Fingers crossed this means 26.2.1 has definitely helped.

I have been using the new 6.2 for many days now and it's fine. Battery doesn't drain and I really find the interface helpful. I am on a newer iPad so bear in mind the older your iPad or iPhone is the more likely it could experience battery issues etc.

Seems nothing extra has changed win the new uodate

I upgraded to iOS26.1 on phone and iPad and ignored a whole bunch of the spiffy new things they suggested. Apart from the terrible watery keyboard which I will change if I can, it looks much the same, but then my phone is a 16 so not old, which I understand is problematic.

Just Apple's way of upselling. Gits.

Just a little warning to the subset of us who use the new “improved” Met Office app. It seems to use up data like a “gang of kids in a candy shop”. DH and I are in an hotel and he has used 208MB in 6 hours and opened it again to find it use another 40 without running any video or maps! DO NOT have it as a widget on your home screen if you don’t want to eat up data (turning the data off doesn’t stop it feeding).

My 8th generation 2020 iPad has been getting on well since I did the factory reset to install 26.1. I felt very nervous about attempting to install the 26.2 but it went ahead without any drama or complaints about insufficient storage.

I think the factory reset and 26.2 has done it a lot of good. It seems faster and things seem to work better. I’m hoping it has a new lease of life.

It turned out that the problem installing instagram was due to the AppStore having two links to download the app. Only one works!

My 2019 iPad bricked Friday morning. I tried absolutely everything completely dead

i need it for work so had to buy a new one Sat and spent hours restoring from backup on sat

this morning old iPad leaped into life again. Not happy but I don’t trust it to not brick again

the touch option on the new iPads is rubbish

When I say I need the iPad for work it’s when my dodgy iPhone 16 doesn’t let me use authenticator apps and Citrix. The phone is a thread on its own…
