I bloomin hate IOS 26 , anyone else

And is there any way of changing it back . Like a klutz I gaily accepted the update but for the first time ever I loathe the changes .
My photos have been put into categories I don’t want . I hate the google search options , I hate the weird glass interface . I want my old phone back .

It is a bit confusing though because most people would have updated in September when it came out, I thought at first there had been a big change between 26.1 and 26.2.

Apple has obviously decided it's time the late comers are upgraded to 26 from 18 by putting it out on the automatic updates

I find contacts and recent calls really annoying. It takes me ages to find contacts now. I also don’t seem to be able to find a contact’s address unless I look for it for ages. Does anyone know how to change it?

Can anyone please tell me how to navigate an app when there is no back space , having to come out the app to go back into another page can’t be right ?

Also hate it. It’s the music for me, it’s far less intuitive now.

The design is abysmal and it’s completely nuked the speed at which my phone operated at before the update. Also why the hell does Bluetooth keep flicking on? It just drains the battery quicker plus I very rarely connect to other devices during the day so always have it switched off- until now because it keeps defaulting to on.

Hahaha as much as I hate this new update, I would NEVER have an Android, zero cachet and that interface makes no sense whatsoever to me. I judge non iPhone users, sorry not sorry 🤭

Nor would I, DH has a Samsung S25 so a newish one and he is always moaning about it, it all seems a bit crap.

Why is everyone saying about safari and needing it changed back ? Via settings /tabs etc

You can block a number, click on the i icon and scroll down.

Definitely used to be able to do that, but the option disappeared when I downloaded iOS 26

The most annoying thing for me is that you can’t do a search in bookmarks in Safari anymore. I mainly use it for recipes but I have about 250 bookmarked so it’s a pain having to scroll through the whole list to find one link.

It’s rubbish. However I have look on the web and found ways to make it better, ie the time on the Lock Screen was so client you could hardly see it, I have managed to get it back to how it was

You can go into settings and Safari, then change ‘tabs’ back to ‘bottom’ which makes it like before.

you can also turn off the glass look on the apps in the transparency setting.

This explains the 1/2 hour rant from my husband ! I’ve turned off auto updates until I’ve seen what to expect and work arounds. I’ve been loyal to Apple because I mostly use my iPad mini in the house and it works so seamlessly with my iPhone but the built in obsolescence and unnecessary tinkering is turning me off gradually.

YES!!! Websites are just not built for iOS 26 or something has gone really gone wrong. I can’t seem to write in blank boxes and drop down menus either work sluggishly or not at all. I had to actually download Firefox today because I could NOT get an important dropdown (to schedule a flu vaccine - I missed the appointment the NHS gave me because I was in hospital) to work on a website. Was perfectly fine in Firefox, so I’ll be using that for online forms and orders now.

Just remembered the thing I noticed yesterday - my weather app now shows Today by scrolling down, and different cities by swiping across.

There was absolutely no need for this change, in fact I preferred it before and it’s annoying to find myself swiped to another city several times a day. 😡

Phone always says slow charge now when charging

Are you using an older charger that's slower, like a usb charger rather than a usb c charger.

THANK YOU - the tabs things was making me want to defenestrate my phone.

This update manages to be even more annoying than the time Apple forced that U2 album into our iTunes.
