Caroline Flack - she was so let down

Just watched the documentary, it’s so sad. She was treated so awfully by the press and police.

I feel so bad for her mum and friends and family 😢

How is this any different to any other predator saying how “mature” their teenage “partners” are?

Not defending her & there’s much more detail. Her first boyfriend was 12 years older - same gap.

Maybe and we’ll never know but the original CPS decision was not to prosecute and she was just going to get a caution. This was then appealed, which arguably may not have happened if there weren’t notes on the file saying that she was a celebrity. The documentary explores this hypothesis and one interviewee says the police may have used this high profile case as an opportunity to show that they take domestic violence seriously.

From a legal
perspective it’s normal and everything happened that should apparently

Doggielovecharlotte · 26/11/2025 18:20

This says it all..the disparity in ages..

just a reminder for all of those who think it’s ok

stop excusing her!

Are you serious? He was a literal schoolboy. I honestly cannot believe people fall for this, Jesus Christ. He was SIXTEEN she was THIRTY ONE. That is absolutely abhorrent and disgusting and inexcusable.

I presume you’re rage baiting because surely nobody looks at those facts and thinks she wasn’t a predator.

The second question in his audition was how old are you? He said 16 and the crowd Ahhhhed because HE WAS A CHILD.

on Xtra Fsctor they talked constantly about how he was the baby of the group etc etc etc.

I am no particular fan & didn’t know anything about it all. Just stating factually some of the things she said on Harry.

She goes into a lot of detail, she had to go into hiding at time. Not defending but observing it sounds like she was possibly a victim of grooming herself with a first boyfriend. A big age gap relationship.

”I never felt I was much older than Harry and probably act that way half the time”

Michael Jackson could use the same argument as he literally WAS still a child in terms of maturity

would that be ok?

Stop excusing her behaviour. The CPS do not charge someone because they're a celebrity. Seriously the people defending her really need to stop being so blinded by her celebrity status.

The documentaries will always be one sided, considering her mother is the only one to keep making them. She will always paint Caroline Flack as some poor hard done by, mentally unwell person, who should be excused her violent behaviour because she's dead.

I’m not excusing her behaviour, just discussing the documentary and what was said.

Doggielovecharlotte · 26/11/2025 18:50

this is a post from someone in legal on another thread.

I’m legal and will write this only once because the Flack topic is infuriating for anyone with legal knowledge.

  1. We don’t ’press charges’ in the UK. The state prosecutes the criminal if they see fit to do so, not the victim. So nobody is entitled to ‘drop charges’ or ‘not press charges’
  2. Charging decisions are routinely challenged and this was not some stunning rare occurrence which ‘looks suspicious’
  3. Domestic violence is prosecuted regardless of whether the perpetrator is sorry, regardless of whether they’ve done it before, regardless of whether they’re 5 foot tall, regardless of whether they’re a celebrity and regardless of whether the victim does or does not want to support the case
  4. Point 3 is because many victims withdraw support through fear or coercion. All violence needs to be taken seriously.
  5. Assault is the lowest possible level of violent crime. It was, in my opinion, very proportionately charged.
  6. The majority of defendants particularly with violent crime have mental health issues. Sad as it is, this does not excuse them from justice
Hope that helps.

You said the harassment she faced was next level that sounds like justifying to me.

I don’t care whether her first boyfriend was a lot older - so was mine and in retrospect I can see that for what it was!

BatshitOutofHell · 26/11/2025 19:23

PinkPanther57 · 26/11/2025 16:38

She has a lot to say about it. “In the entertainment industry nobody asks what age you are any more than how many A levels you’ve got they’re both irrelevant. I never felt I was much older than Harry and probably act that way half the time - all those years in kids’ telly probably didn’t help.”

The harassment she faced was next level.

And I bet people in the entertainment industry were talking about it behind her back. She was deluded. And even if they didn't mind she should have minded. What sort of relationship can a 31 year old woman have with a 16 year old apart from the obvious? When she said she was like a child herself, that is a big indication of her mental health and the fact that, for whatever reason, she did not see herself as an adult.

It really is and it doesnt make it suddenly ok because the genders are reversed.

I dont have a daughter, but if a much older man targeted my daughter at the same age it would feel just as repulsive and controlling.

We would be in instant uproar!!!

according to CF they were like the same age in their minds..

reminds me of MJ

Simon Cowell asked, according to CF, if they were ‘in love’ apologised for how she’d been treated. Melanie Blatt, Dawn Porter & others offered full support. No one seemed to question it that she knew or respected. Her agent said it was all above board etc.

thaegumathteth · 26/11/2025 19:55

do you think the vitriol Andrew (previously prince) has received is also next level

thaegumathteth · 26/11/2025 19:55

FWIW I think harry styles is about 32 now. My daughter loves him and is almost 16. If they had a relationship it would be utterly disgusting.

And just because they all endorsed it it was OK? Because they said it was “above board” - what the hell does that mean in this context?

I am not comparing CF to Weinstein except to say that many of his associates would have known some of what he was up to and many of them would have endorsed his behaviour. It doesn’t make it right.

I guess above board means it was consensual. I’m not aware that Harry has ever complained or said it was inappropriate, correct me if I’m wrong.

Gross (imo)

Many 16 year olds who had “consensual” relationships with mature people come to think differently about it later in life while at the time they assumed it was ok.

BatshitOutofHell · 27/11/2025 08:15

Surely Cowell should have been asking questions given that he employed both of them and was presumably responsible for the welfare of the youngster.

popcorncake · 27/11/2025 08:17

When I was 16 years old I used to work part time in a supermarket. There was a 40 year old man who worked there who took a special interest in me. He used to come and talk to me all the time, ask me about my life and my interests, ask me how my A levels were going, we discussed ways in which I felt my parents "didnt understand me" and he was so supportive that I shared a lot of my private feelings with him. If you had asked me then about him, I would have said how absolutely lovely he was.

Looking back now with age and experience, he makes my skin crawl. He was a 40 year old man obviously targeting a 16 year old girl. All these cosy chats we kept having culminated in him suggesting we went out for drinks. At the time, I had no idea what his real intentions were- I thought he liked me for who I was not just because he wanted to have sex with me and I was flattered by his interest in me. Nothing happened in the end because I ended up breaking my leg in an accident and was off work for 6 weeks so didnt see him for ages and when I returned, he had left.

Looking back, he probably could have convinced me to have sex with him and it would have been "consensual" - doesnt mean it wouldnt have been grooming though.

Livpool · 27/11/2025 08:19

Yeah suggesting she was a child herself is so odd and creepy. That photo really demonstrates the disparity in their ages

BatshitOutofHell · 27/11/2025 08:25

I just find it hard to fathom that a 30 year old would confess to having the immaturity of a 16 year old and use that to justify the relationship. That they would do that as a person subjected to public scrutiny shows a level of arrogance and entitlement. It is hard to say my these things of someone who died so tragically. But it is equally hard to be told it was ok when many of us can see that it really wasn’t.
