Caroline Flack - she was so let down

Just watched the documentary, it’s so sad. She was treated so awfully by the press and police.

I feel so bad for her mum and friends and family 😢

Had Caroline's partner hit her with a mobile phone when she was asleep and drawn blood, there would have been outrage if he hadn't been charged. Violence is NEVER acceptable in any relationship, and given they'd only been together a matter of months, there is no excusing her behaviour. No matter how hard her Mum tries to.

Shame on Disney for this poor excuse of a documentary.

Didn’t she physically attack her boyfriend?

Newyearnewmewoooop · 21/11/2025 22:05

She didn’t draw blood though, that’s the whole point. The blood was her own. Honestly it’s shocking how much misinformation is believed

I can't understand why her defence lawyer was so poor.

TigTails · 21/11/2025 22:09

First post nails it. If she’d been a man the whole situation would have been viewed completely differently!

GumFossil · 21/11/2025 22:10

I think it’s sad she didn’t get the help and support she obviously needed from her mum, friends and wider family.

But there’s only one person to blame for her death and that’s Caroline herself.

MrsLizzieDarcy · 21/11/2025 22:10

He was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital. I'd imagine they'd have soon realised if it wasn't his blood Hmm

And the CPS felt there was enough evidence to charge her with assault.

OnlyMabelInTheBuilding · 21/11/2025 22:10

No, I think too many excuses are made. Her behaviour was appalling, and as PP said, no one would dare defend a man doing the same

I completely agree. It’s upsetting that she died, but that doesn’t mean she was a saint. Even if the blood was her own she was violent towards her partner, which is inexcusable.

FuzzyWolf · 21/11/2025 22:12

Remember that the documentary is skewed to give a particular viewpoint and try to gain sympathy for Caroline.

She likely had a drinking problem and when drunk assaulted her boyfriend whilst he was asleep. He called for help thinking she was going to kill him. Those actions was something she needed to take full responsiblity for.

Yes, the media are cruel and awful to celebrities and it’s not acceptable but that’s a completely different issue and you don’t typically see celebrities acting how she did.

Pavementworrier · 21/11/2025 22:13

I don't understand what complainers think should have happened instead. Should she have been allowed to commit domestic violence without consequences?

TigTails · 21/11/2025 22:13

Imagine such a documentary about a man who did that!!!

thaegumathteth · 21/11/2025 22:13

I think she had a hard time mentally and that’s very sad and unfair BUT quite aside from the domestic abuse side of it which is bad enough she was romantically involved with Harry styles when he was 16/17 and she was in her 30s. Legal yes but not ok.

Why have you started yet another post on this?

Thingsaretight · 21/11/2025 22:14

Another one?

are you the same poster who spent 100s of posts last week defending an abuser?

Oh well that’s alright then.

Honestly, imagine the post on here “I was asleep and woke up to my boyfriend thumping my head with a phone, but he didn’t draw blood!” He’d rightly be called abusive, and no one would say “ah well, he didn’t draw blood, what’s all the fuss about”.

And that’s before you mention the fact she dated a 17 year old when she was 32.

I don’t have much knowledge about the situation but why would it matter if she drew blood or not? You can physically assault someone badly without drawing blood surely?

Bobiverse · 21/11/2025 22:18

She was a domestic abuser. If she was a man, no one would care that he killed himself for rightly facing prosecution and public backlash for being a domestic abuser.

She deserved everything she got. Sorry she killed herself instead of facing what she did, but she deserved to be prosecuted and she deserved for it to make the news just like men in the public eye who do that sort of thing to their partner.

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 21/11/2025 22:19

I still haven’t had an answer to this;

Everyone says that the police were called and THEN Caroline slit her wrists but I was under the impression that the police were called BECAUSE she self harmed and locked herself in the bathroom.

Did the documentary shed any light on that?

I feel most sorry for the fella she attacked and then self harmed in front of, he must be in such a bad place after that and then the suicide and all these documentaries about it.

And the real point here is that she cut herself after he called the police. This is a classic abuser tactic.

He wasn’t, he didn’t even have a mark on him. It was her that was taken to hospital for her injuries that she had inflicted on herself

Many of them are

Mine wasn’t a criminal case it was family court but literally all they had to do was speak up and admit their error and they would’ve saved me nearly £50,000 on an awful lot of trauma but their ego wouldn’t even let them do that. They knew damn well they’ve made a mistake.
They couldn’t even just put their hand up and Say so
It was no skin off their nose. Nobody was gonna die in there business or get sacked.

Yes.

Also, many men beat up on women regularly and although it’s greatly deplored, how great is the outrage, and how long does outrage last in media and on social media, when the man is the perpetrator?

The criticisms of Caroline were much greater and louder when measured against the criticism men face.

He was in such a bad way he shagged and then married her friend
Sounds as if he’s had a dreadful time
