Yes. But the underlying issue has to be that Starmer is clinging on by his fingertips, surely.

He was happy enough to sack Sue Gray, Louise Haigh, Angela Rayner, Lucy Powell, Ian Murray, a raft of ministers in the last ‘reshuffle’, etc etc. Yet he won’t sack McSweeney.

That is an admission of Starmer having nowhere to go and no future at all as PM.

I’ve been thinking (worryingly) and I’ve concluded that Starmer is, in reality, a Walter Mitty, in so far as he’s not a real PM.

Never was, never will be.

It’s very much in parallel with the two estate agent stories.

The journalists lied / are incompetent, nuffink to do with Labour, guv.

This current government is going the same way as the last government, the government that the LP said that they wouldn’t be like. Who’d trust any politicians eh?
