A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

Bracing for the budget 😬

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It would be comical if they weren’t actually in power. What clowns they are. Damaging ones though unfortunately for us.

Edited

This is, without doubt, the most utterly useless, destructive, damaging, vindictive, corrupt, dishonest, hypocritical, unprincipled and morally rebarbative government of my life time and Keir Starmer is without doubt the worst PM we have ever had in our modern history.

It must now be clear to all but the most blinkered and delusional lefties that those who voted Labour at the last election in the belief that things could not get worse than a government led by Rishi Sunak and Jeremy Hunt, and the legions of embittered Remainers who simply wanted to punish the Conservatives for Brexit have made an appalling mistake which the country will suffer from severely for many years…

SpaceRaccoon · 13/11/2025 08:47

Did I think Labour would introduce some policies I didn't like? Yes but them's the breaks. Did I think they'd manage to completely stuff up the economy in little over a year? Honestly not.

Rivalled · 13/11/2025 08:49

Honestly same here, I didn’t think Reeves would ignore advice from expert policy economists…it’s a funny sort of over confidence problem, clearly she takes the fact that she has a PPE and a masters in econ as if she knows better than seasoned policy economists.

you might have thought given this isn’t her first career snafu she’d have learned more caution…

Hard agree with this. And at this point, fuck it, being on the GE!

Just saw this on Facebook. Made me smile!

I don't think anybody expected them to be this bad, even me. You couldn't make it up. What's staggering is that its entirely self inflicted too.

No doubt Starmer's answer to his current woes will be to get on a plane and bugger off somewhere.

Sir Keir Starmer has expressed "sincere regret" to his ethics adviser after signing off the appointment of Labour donor David Kogan as chairman of England’s football regulator.

Honestly I am sick the fcking back teeth of this lot thinking that an apology is all that's needed when they either fck up or get caught out. They take no responsibilty and show no remorse

CaveMum · 13/11/2025 09:06

Morning all, haven’t caught up on this morning’s many, many posts yet, but thought I’d give a quick recommendation to listen to today’s TRIP Q&A.

They spend the first 15 minutes going over the clusterfuck of the last few days in Downing Street and it’s actually pretty informative. It’s also amusing to hear Alastair’s barely contained rage 🤣

🤣🤣 Brings back childhood memories. Custard was one of my parents swearword alternatives. You can really get behind it. Utter custard, complete custard, total custard, shambolic custard, ad infinitum. My Dad's favourite was custard filtrum!

Yes I think he’s really uncomfortable at home, doesn’t want to face or deal with the his problems in his party and is probably in denial. Hence why he keeps jetting off.

Am I the only reading the DM headline that they are now threatening the backbenchers with the nuclear option of a new GE?

Just read that. Incredible! They’ve blasted off all by themselves, it’s politically self inflicted. GE or not how bad can they be

In less than a fortnight we will know our fate. I've been feeling jittery this last week.

Reeves is the only Chancellor in history who has believed that you can tax your way to growth.

Her idiocy knows no limits.

I still maintain Cummings laid down a big old rope which tripped up Boris and led to the series of things that saw them out.

Starmer has put down his own rope and tripped over it. It really could see them all out sooner rather than later.

the80sweregreat · 13/11/2025 09:46

I hope there is an almighty back lash by the end of November. The budget that Liz Truss was responsible for saw her off and maybe this one may have the same effect , businesses are already suffering now.

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 13/11/2025 09:49

I’ll go against the tide here. A GE would be a very bad precedent to be set, whether by a PM in a fit of pique or by the media gathering momentum and calls for one.

We need governments to govern for terms, not in bursts.

I’m meh about who from Labour succeeds Starmer - unless they’re a closet Tory and start cutting taxes and spending! All the plausible Labour candidates would carry on the UK’s destruction by student union politics.

I’ve never imagined that Carol Decker (of T’Pau China in your hand’ fame), and Jeremy Clarkson would be on the same page, as it were!

Probably Cotswolds buddies

I think Starmer is probably better the devil we know (another 80’s hit), his replacement could be a far left lunatic. Imagine Ed Milliband? Jesus

I have mixed feelings on a GE rn as I think leaving it for longer will benefit the other parties. Plus Kemi is getting into her stride and I like her as opposition leader for a bit longer. She could build more support.

redange · 13/11/2025 10:02

I am not saying I am a 'psychic' but this Government is as bad I imagined it was going to be. I was met with 'give them a chance' when I said that if they were voted in, after just six months in office, they would be the most incompetent and socially destructive Government in British history. This has come to pass with this administration and the Parliamentary Labour Party, who are inhabited by the most 'pathetic' group of individuals.

I've often thought the only difference between KS and Red Ed is one hardly moves (bollard) and the other is straight out of a Wallace and Grommit cartoon. Apart from that, they're as dangerous to the UK as each other.

That would be the countryside finished in the pursuit of net zero.
