Cheap plastic tat that will end up in our rivers, seas.

I just watched Simon Reeve's 'Tropic of Cancer' final episode with a Hawaian beach contaminated by washed up plastic.

Most of them, if not all, are climate change deniers. Our beautiful rivers and lakes as well are at risk.

@DuncinToffee maybe that's why they were taken down here as so close to the sea - not just because they were in a bad way

There are a lot of Trump appeasers around.

It's very foggy here this morning, dull grey day

Its a double whammy.

They get to whip the woke BBC.

And position themselves as more closely allied to the pussy grabber.

And for the media owners like Paul Marshall etc it’s is a golden opportunity to neuter a rival.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 15/11/2025 11:16

I hadn't realised it was
National post a random month old headline day today.
Here's my offering - but as I'm not a first time poster maybe I don't deserve a go.

It is fascinating to see how patriotic certain posters have become and the use of random capitalisation by others

@PandoraSocks , I posted about it on the Trump thread,

It costs money to make a plastic that can withstand prolonged exposure to UV and the relentless chemical onslaught that is rainfall.

Money those flagshaggers aren't prepared to spend.

@PandoraSocks , I posted about it on the Trump thread,

From the same people that think Dubai is a utopia.

Given the collapse of the Telegraph deal I can imagine the headlines will become ever more hysterical.

PandoraSocks · 15/11/2025 12:00

I didn't know the Telegraph deal had collapsed. That is unfortunate.

bombastix · 15/11/2025 13:10

Pretty sure the Bubba reference is a joke…

Though I note Trump has decided to release lots of Epstein and Clinton related material now.

You mean using that name? Or the whole suggestion of the activity?

placemats · 15/11/2025 13:22

The BBC has reported that Trump (peurile snigger) is suing for a $1 to$5 billion and interviewed a lawyer who said he is in with a good chance. Can't remember the lawyer's name so I'll call him Lionel Hutz.

cardibach · 15/11/2025 13:28

Where is he planning on doing this suing? Because the documentary wasn’t aired in the US and British law doesn’t allow for those sorts of punitive ‘damages’. Plus he’s out of time here anyway…

placemats · 15/11/2025 13:30

Florida.

A lawyers principle duty is to themselves. So every case is winnable if the client is rich enough to pay.

If this case is a slam dunk you'd have lawyers queuing lining around the block to do it on a no win no fee basis. Even the firms that Trump has strong armed into providing him with pro bono work will be running a mile.

Anyway it's not the legal side that's an issue. What happens if Trump announces he will tariff the UK at 1000% unless he gets $1 billion from the "BBC" ? With the traitors in Reform and GBNews cheering him on ?

Notonthestairs · 15/11/2025 13:32

I'm not sure the practicalities or legalities matter all that much.

The point is sound and fury. Intimidation.

Trump has launched legal claims against half a dozen (at least) newspapers etc.
Its what he does.

And some (not all ?) have paid to make him go away.

I restate. If the BBC gives him so much as a cent, then I'm willing to break the law to protest.

Not in my name.

Notonthestairs · 15/11/2025 13:46

Cases brought against CNN, NY Times and WaPo by Trump were thrown out.
ABC/Disney paid out after referencing the civil rape case. CBS and Meta paid out before any court case.
Dont know what the end result was of the WSJ and the Epstein birthday message - ongoing maybe?

PandoraSocks · 15/11/2025 13:49

Trump such a typical bully. He says the most awful things about other people, but that is OK.

unfortunately I think it may have been broadcast on the BBC international or have been available online.

PandoraSocks · 15/11/2025 13:53

Why has he chosen Florida?
