Tesco we're still selling their version until recently. DS1 is partial to them.

Sadly, not being mobile, and not having an endless pocket that's off the menu at the moment. I wonder if One-Stop can source them ?

Why are you not mobile at the moment, Jane? Hope you are OK.

Test post. Wasn't able to post earlier.

I do like a bit of Christmas cake with Stilton.

I'm almost afraid to try it, but it'll probably see me through the dark winter days.

😂, may try and make it as I'm back into cooking quite a bit at the moment, I have peaks and troughs with cooking sometimes I see it as the great oppressor, keeping me tied to the kitchen sink and drudgery but at the moment I'm in a peak, I actually made my teen DD pancakes before school this morning she was in shock and a bit confused to be putting back the Weetabix!

placemats · 14/11/2025 12:46

I hear you regarding the cooking @Goldenbear . I'm batch cooking today. Tomato sauce, meatballs and ragu. Best get cracking.

Pancakes for breakfast on a soggy, cold morning sounds fantastic 😊

Hats off to you with the batch cooking, I am not organised enough although I have got better as food so expensive shouldn't be resorting to jars!

Listening to the Likely Lads on Radio 4 extra at the same time as cooking, my Dad got me on to them, still so very funny!

placemats · 14/11/2025 13:16

When I did a year volunteering for CAB, the complaints about landlords were heartbreaking. In the office I worked for, landlords who rang in were signpost to other organisations.

ilovesooty · 14/11/2025 13:19

They're already doing it. Sorry, that should have incorporated a quote. I see the usual posters who've had it in for the government since before the election are continuing their posts claiming that they are breaking their election manifesto.

placemats · 14/11/2025 13:19

A jar is perfectly acceptable @Goldenbear , I'm certainly no food snob.

Will listen to the Likely Lads and thanks for the tip.

No worries. I tried to post with a quote more than an hour ago but it didnt work. I am now adopting the strategy that I use on this thread of simply not engaging with some posters who quote me and try to address me directly. It's taking them a long time to get the message. In the absence of a block function that's what I choose to do.

Yes, they are but can be very sweet, so much nicer to have home cooked one, I'm quite lucky at the moment as DS working for a Deli (saving for uni) and bringing home food for dinner plus he's sorted out dishwasher tidying up washing on before I get home some nights as he said he doesn't want me to have to put up with the drudgery. He's a lovely lad!

Yes it was glitchy earlier.

Combination of caring duties and fucked eyes, but hey wow that's the life we have. Genuinely touched by the question but there are people much worse off.

Did manage to get to Sainsburys today (took a weeks planning). Fuck me they are shit aren't they ? If anyone wonders about the cost of living, then stories with about 70% stock levels (including the freezers) can explain about 20% of the price rises you are seeing.

E2A: What a grey day.

PickAChew · 14/11/2025 15:46

Sainsburys stock levels have been a lottery for a while. I was expecting them to own up to having been hacked back when it was all the rage in the spring.

I actually managed to get out by myself and go further afield than the local shops for the first time in ages, today. My heart sank when DS2 's college called while I was out as he's had a few difficulties with settling in but thankfully I just ended up discussing travel training risk assessments while looking at the Men's gloves in John Lewis!

ETA, yes, it's revolting. Our big deluge was yesterday. Today it's just heavy drizzle on waterlogged ground. And cold.

Sorry to hear about mobility troubles jane and your troubles matter as much as anyone else’s.

I’ve noticed a distinct lack of being able to get some stuff this week too.

For me it’s aldis protein shakes.

DuncinToffee · 14/11/2025 15:50

Our Sainsbury's is ok in the morning, empty shelves 2pm onwards.

Flowers and salted caramel @SerendipityJane
