With you on the salted caramel.

Me too - and it’s in or on bloody everything now. It’s a fashion I wish would die a death.

Don't tell Jane

😮

Piggywaspushed · 11/11/2025 17:51

I like salted caramel. But then I like Corbyn , so I'm no judge.

Earl Grey ? (With honey, naturally).

Piggywaspushed · 11/11/2025 18:05

I like Earl Grey shortbread. Waitrose used to do it but discontinued it.

As for tea - builder's , in a footed Denby mug.

PandoraSocks · 11/11/2025 18:09

Lemon goes well with some many things! Stir fried sprouts with chilli and lemon for example.

Whittard did Earl Grey biscuits last time I was there (a long time ago).

Earl Grey with honey and salted caramel syrup in frothed milk is heaven in a cup.

I believe it's called a London Fog if you use vanilla.

DuncinToffee · 11/11/2025 18:16

Sounds like horror in a cup

I am sorry, but that is an abomination. I am shocked, Jane. Shocked.

It certainly does. An abomination.

I have a nice lemon potato one I can share but I missed Pointy's one too

I'll let you know how it turns out and if it's good, I'll share it.

I don't like tea. I went off it when pregnant with DD1, never went back on it again. At a push I will drink weak Lady Grey or Lapsang. With nothing in it.

Piggywaspushed · 11/11/2025 18:22

I just found those Earl Grey biscuits online. Beyond excited.

PickAChew · 11/11/2025 18:28

I take your salted caramel and raise you this. 🤢

Agree 🤢 not keen on salted caramel or lemon except in G&T
Barrys Tea or Thompsons very strong & threaten with a tiny dash of milk.

I'm beginning to think some food companies are run by people with serious mental health issues

bombastix · 11/11/2025 19:23

I think apparently they’ve done extensive tests to work out that something salty, fatty and sweet hits all the pleasure centres of the brain at once. Hence the proliferation of salted caramel.

I like Earl Grey, but really passionate about wine. That I get fussy about.

dontcallmelen · 11/11/2025 19:31

I can’t drink wine really goes to my head very quickly have been known to dance on tables I’m fine on G&T don’t like the fancy flavoured ones.

That renowned and respected lover of truth and journalistic integrity.... THE KREMLIN.... has stepped up to defend Trump in his battle against the BBC.

SO that's Farage, Netanyahu, Putin, and Boris Johnson...

I have to vehemently disagree with you all on the salted caramel hatred!

I was excited this week as Lidl do a salted caramel protein shake.

I savoured every mouthful at lunch today 😋

countrygirl99 · 11/11/2025 20:44

I like salted caramel as a standalone but not in stuff. Sainsbury's have got salted caramel frangipane mince pies and that combo can go to hell.

LlttledrummergirI · 11/11/2025 20:46

I adore lemon. Honey and lemon, lemon meringue tart, lemon drizzle cake. I've just put lemon in the last of the Christmas cakes.

I'm not a lover of gin, but will happily drink vodka, or rum with or without a mixer. The jury is still out on salted caramel, and much as I adore marmite, it doesn't have any place in a desert.

itsgettingweird · 11/11/2025 20:57

I’m on the absolute hate side of the marmite debate!!!

salted caramel galaxy 😋😋😋
