For the record, I’ve never posted about Charlie Kirk on this thread or any other.

BIWI · 10/11/2025 17:49

Why @Cappuccinofrotherextraordinaire @Bluefacedsheep @Rummly are you (and your thread mates) so obsessed about what we post on these threads?

Why does it matter to you what we discuss?

SerendipityJane · 10/11/2025 17:53

As predicted, Mr. Brexit pretends he campaigned for Remain.

To add to the good news stories I’m pleased to report Sheffield anti racists (est 1000-2000)surpassed Tenconi’s few mates (est 50-100) by far and stood their ground against (the police rules), Mosley wannabes (yes really), Seig Heils, and breaking into apartment bin stores (no idea 🙈🤣).
I remain baffled how this type of behaviour aligns with patriotism but gives hope there are more of us than of them.

Looks like an admission that it’s a fuck up to me.

Edited

I’m really not obsessed. I always regarded these threads - a couple of which I inspired the titles of - as being like a press room where the critics assemble to discuss a clown show. It may have been filled with commenters sympathetic to the Guardian, Mirror and The Canary, and therefore woefully misguided, but enjoyable for all that.

But Farage is not to blame, of course.

It's the first baby step towards "Brexit ? Whose fool idea was that ?"

Piggywaspushed · 10/11/2025 18:19

Oh, that's the wholly innocent Musk salute, dontcha know?

Karistyleaftea · 10/11/2025 18:21

But Mr Farage you campaigned for Brexit.
Remember the bus?
Remember any of it?

DuncinToffee · 10/11/2025 18:24

Evenstar · 10/11/2025 18:17

Talking of Tenconi, footage of him apparently making a Nazi salute near the Cenotaph 🤢
https://bsky.app/profile/alicedayuk.bsky.social/post/3lm3sx22n6c2w

I read he did the same in Portsmouth. He was also pretending to be at the Cenotaph when posting a picture of the Aldershot War memorial.

Tax cuts anyone ?

I'm struggling to think of a single media outlet that would even dream of holding that cunt to account. We certainly know it won't be the BBC.

I really can see a QT with Farage in his usual spot and some BeLeavers asking questions and the next days headlines being "Nigel Farage accuses BBC of bias stitch up".

Remember DARVO.

It is odd that lots of us feel like this about him, but can't quite pin down why.

Like I’ve said before I think it’s because he identifies himself as a populist. Populism isn’t the answer, whether it’s left or right wing, progressive or regressive. It’s a bit showy. A bit too into easy answers.

Evenstar · 10/11/2025 18:37

@DuncinToffee I saw that photo too

BestIsWest · 10/11/2025 19:04

@PickAChew lovely embroidery. I like a bit of needlepoint myself although I have taught myself to crochet (rather wonkily) this past week and am now obsessed. It’s a fine distraction.

This is a project I started working on through lockdown. It was a slightly rough looking red chair which I wanted blue and I thought it would be a good idea to pick out the pattern.

It was definitely a labour of love.

That would be time consuming! Is it turned edge applique? It's very intricate.

I've booked myself in for a little free motion machine embroidery workshop, this weekend. I could teach myself but it's a technique that I really need to unclench for (I'm more of a precision sewer!) and I need to talk to some adults about things I enjoy rather than about the boys or about fucking jam and sodding Soreen bars! Unfortunately it's on Sunday so I can't just slope off on the bus by myself for the afternoon.

I embroidered over the printed pattern in a similar thread, just a very basic stitch. It definitely kept me busy.
I've hand sewn it to the frame.
