A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Detectorists is an absolute classic @CaveMum as is ghosts. West wing makes me sad these days as American politics is so far from that now.

TRIM has been pretty good this year on the whole although I wish they’d get a bit more of a debate going with people with differing points of view sometimes!

Nolletimiere · 20/10/2025 20:43

Thanks for popping by.

Toodles.

Absolutely zilch.

Oh well, thanks for popping by to misread a post, carry on like you have been personally insulted and then wave your arm around and talk about benefit bashing on the site more generally - as if that had happened here. Quick, go and tell the cat botherers about how you bravely fought meanies.

Why bother then?

Why do any of us bother to post anything on MN? To express an opinion and exchange views.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 20/10/2025 20:44

I think it’s simply an indication of a lack of meaningful content on their own thread…

Can't wait for the Caerphilly by-election.

That'll liven up things a bit.

Hoping for a PC victory, but it is looking tight.

A reasonable person would think so, yes - but some have become experts in polishing diarrhoea (see Rayner, Mandy et al)…

We’re the worst apparently. Better off just leaving us to it.

Nolletimiere · 20/10/2025 20:49

Strewth, Banquo’s ghost is back.

It’s not even Halloween yet….

TheNuthatch · 20/10/2025 20:49

PandoraSocks · 20/10/2025 20:38

That is fair enough. I thought it was a pretty horrible thing to say. I am allowed an opinion. There is too much benefit bashing on this site.

There is a lot of benefit bashing on MN. I agree with you there, and its horrible to read sometimes.

But I can see both sides of it because I also feel taxed to within breaking point, and bled dry to.pay for an ever increasing welfare bill. My dd really needs her PIP, I'm sure your dh does too.

It is horrible to read. The benefit bashers lump everyone together as "scroungers" which is why I think it should be called out. Most people claiming benefits are genuine.

I will bow out now, but thank you for this response Nuthatch. I genuinely wish you and your dd well.

Don't you have a cat to feed Pandora?
You'll get disowned by the cat thread for cruelty.

justasking111 · 20/10/2025 21:11

I'm watching Moonlighting which has been remastered. 45 minutes of fun, one episode a night.

No. Sadly my cat died last year and I don't have the heart to get another one yet.

I'm watching celebrity traitors (but hate Jonathan Ross). I'm half way though the house of Guinness on NF, and I've started watching Iris on Sky. I'm enjoying bbc one Riot Women on Sunday nights. I keep nodding off on the sofa watching telly so have to start again. God I feel old 😂

Do you watch/listen to Uncloaked afterwards? If you’ve not heard the TRIE reaction podcasts then they’re a must - Richard and Marina are practically giddy discussing it! I’m Team Nick, he’s flown under the radar so far but he’s a bone fide genius and I’m sure he’s quietly sussing everyone out before he strikes, or gets recruited!

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 20/10/2025 21:19

I really enjoyed Boston Legal on All4.

It's very American, but William Shatner, James Spader and Candice Bergen are wonderful.

I love Nick!
No haven't watched any of the other stuff. I've never watched traitors before so its all new to me. I might watch the old series one day, if I can stay awake.
