Labour isn't working - Thread 10

A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It's starting to feel real now isn't it.

Can they stay like this for 4 more years? Will the Tories stage any sort of come back? Will Labour have drastic rethink about themselves and their shit start in gvt?

🤔

Absentosaur · 29/09/2025 21:19

And how many pages of posts will our lovely group have on MN by then 😂😂🙈

Anything is possible I suppose. Farage has proved that.
I don't think Labour will recover now though. We're at the toxic infighting stage already.

I think the Lib Dems are ones to watch.

Gary very wise Economist things the Greens / Lib Dem’s / lab could form some sort of hellish (<my added word) competition party / coalition. Not unreasonable thinking.

Brexit wasn’t based on spin and lies, and you are probably still failing to see the bigger picture here, and no doubt you will be ‘shocked’ again in the near future, because of your inability to understand other perceptions, or listen to other people.

I voted remain, admittedly as a ‘better the devil you know’ decision, and without great enthusiasm.

But there are plenty of us right-leaning voters who were unimpressed by the leave campaign’s promises.

But I respect the outcome and it’s up to the UK to make it work.

That said, the EU looks like a basket case at the moment and we might even get a better deal if we go back in 10 years time!

I don't think anyone who voted to leave, did so because of the bus.

Not unreasonable at all. Things could change again if Jezza sorts out Your Party too 🤷‍♂️.

That's two MRP polls where Reform would have an outright majority and, additionally, YouGov had them within 15 seats of that.

It will continue to rise as Farage is already on an election campaign
The Conservatives really need step up

In fairness to the poor put-upon bus, the NHS has had far more than £350m per week extra, since Brexit.

Whether one attributes that to a Brexit dividend or not is a matter of opinion about accounting and causation.

Yes, it feels like it was a theoretical possibility but more and more it feels like the inevitable outcome unless something significant happens.

I think that’s very difficult rn. As much as I’d like them to. Re earlier post I voted Remain but I think Labour plus Brexit is causing even more problems. It’s the anti growth on top.

I think we need to move on with it all and incentivise growth, which Labour are hammering atm

😬 tg for you all

I just saw ‘hard choices to come’ headline pop up. Oh come on, this was a year ago and meant to be a one off remember. This is Labour’s own doing. Fuckers!

I don’t think they will find taxing “the broadest shoulders” hard at all. Dealing with the spiralling costs of the welfare state would be hard. I don’t see it happening, short of the IMF stepping in.

To be fair to Starmer, he did try to stop some bits of the welfare state. But his own idiots stopped it. No chance it’s going to happen now. In fact they will only make it worse by eg. Removing the 2 child cap.

We were discussing the same thing last night. The Lib Dems, have, for the main (apart from their conference) kept their powder dry and not said that much at all for or against government policy. They are the dark horse in all this. God preserve if they win, we would end up as Europe's whipping boy and be the dumping ground for their migration problem.

Yes I agree, but as you say, God helps us if they end up anywhere near power.

See you on the next thread x
