A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Reeves can lay blame entirely on ‘the world’

😂😂 This made me laugh. Just imagining any/ all heads of state, answering concerned questions raised by their electorate, with “[sigh] [shrug] I dunno.. it’s just The World, innit?”

Julen7 · 29/09/2025 13:12

According to the Starmer thread “an impressive speech” from Reeves, are we listening to the same speech?

just two more months of endless speculation on tax
rises to go folks!

Reeves is the ‘global headwind’. Her and Starmer plus Labour. All the headwinds we (don’t) need.

Reeves has just said that things are much better now than under the conservatives.
She's off her rocker.

I heard around two minutes of her speech and switched off when she started banging on about breakfast clubs. Honestly what planet are they on?

"Don't let anyone tell you that a Labour government is no different than a Conservative government".

No danger of that Rachel, we know full well what difference you have made, and it's all negative, hence your polling.

I’m still confused at this
get 18 year olds into work concept
with no businesses signed up to give any of them a job
Interesting how her ‘idea’ doesn’t specify for how long they will be offered a job for either

Isn’t this much the same as the system now. What’s different.

but more to the point why the focus on those who’ve just left education

Why isn’t the focus on ALL ( capable) working age people that have been out of work or never worked. Aren’t they the problem.

Why isn’t Reeves extending forced employment of any kind on them.

Why isn’t she extending the working hours requirement for UC

Think I’ll email Timbuktu and ask them why they’ve ruined our economy

Well precisely but also it's the entry level jobs which are disappearing due to AI etc so whwte is she going to find all these jobs for them to do?

She's talking through her arse, as usual.
We were due to take on an apprentice this year, but we couldn't afford to thanks to Reeves and her budget.
She has caused a rise in unemployment ffs. She is the architect of many young people being out of work.

Reeves not answering any questions on tax rises. So there you have the budget @Rivalled

Her questions on welfare spending also avoided with ‘ there have always been conditions on the benefits system’
so no reductions then !!

dust off your shoulder pads peeps were in for a long ride

Agree and looking at those figures @twistyizzy posted it’s far worse than I thought

Rivalled · 29/09/2025 14:02

Well if they raise even more tax on people in the private sector, that’ll just spiral into fewer jobs and even less hope.

yes, time for a cup of tea and stop the doomscrolling for today!

Zero hours contract at Amazon warehouses

My son tried in the summer. Queue up at the door every morning and get turned away because
’wrong school mate’

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 29/09/2025 14:21

Funny how world events matter so much for Labour’s performance, but Covid, Ukraine and energy shocks don’t figure at all in their mendacious account of the Tories’ time in office. All Labour did about that was to tell and to promote massive, massive lies.

On one level these Labour people are just slimy politicians, of which every party has a bus load. But Labour and its fans tout their goodness, virtue and honesty. It’s the most hypocritical pile of dishonest shite ever.

Did they have links to specific schools?

Or was this more social justice bullshit, discriminating against private school children?

Yes this. And tbh during the last general election I could never understand why Tory Ministers and spokespeople did not say 'We DID have a pandemic you know. And we kept people and households afloat through an expensive furlough system. And we encouraged mortgage holidays again so people would not lose their homes'. They were just silent on it all.

Imagine how things would have been if Labour had been in power. A disaster.

It really is. I’m not listening and I’m still running out of words to say how much I loathe and despise them, absolute liars.

😬 tg for you all

I just saw ‘hard choices to come’ headline pop up. Oh come on, this was a year ago and meant to be a one off remember. This is Labour’s own doing. Fuckers!

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 29/09/2025 14:42

I’ve just wasted a few minutes watching part of Rachel Reeves’s speech. I couldn’t stomach more than that.

Why do this government’s senior people talk so drearily? They’re awful to listen to. So dull and unimpressive. Led by the nasal-in-chief Keir Starmer (KC 😮).

I prefer a good ranty union leader. At least they’re impassioned and not Dalek-voiced. They may be foolish and deluded, but I’d rather have a drink with them than with the social misfits in the cabinet.
