A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It’s a very selective definition of work alright.

just saw Labour councillors earnestly saying they supported tax rises, they felt those with broadest shoulders should pay, it had to be ‘equitable’…

how much tax do we think they pay?

as usual, no acknowledging that those with the broadest shoulders already pay horrifically high taxes and have done for some years as their earnings eroded.

Lutonsgirl · 29/09/2025 12:05

I am watching ..just heard someone (Welsh secretary?)say..Well now we have fixed the foundations......

Do they really believe the shite they come out with?

Yes meanwhile the number of eg. Benefit claimants goes up by millions, the population has increased by 10million in 10 years - and the vast majority of those people are not paying much tax compared to others. Where does it end? And still Labour are bleeting on about ‘broadest shoulders’. They should try reducing benefit eligibility, stemming the immigration based population increase , and taxing the billionaires and big corporations more - that might help. But instead they’re fcking around taxing the financially successful and those with ‘the broadest shoulders’. They really do make me feel sick.

Yes I think they really do.

They honestly think they are doing a good job, so everyone else is wrong 🙄 It's the same delusion as the Labour supporters on here. They are even now denying the polling results 🙄 it really is a case of "see no evil, hear no evil" etc.

Labour supporters on MN just seem to be talking about cats and Reform

I can’t see any discussion on the conference. ??

Perhaps I’ve missed a thread as as id like to know why they are still supporting all this crap

RockaLock · 29/09/2025 12:23

👋 I’ve been lurking on these threads.

I’m getting increasingly nervous about this budget. Pippa Crear (political editor at the Grauniad) has said this on twitter this morning:

“Rachel Reeves is asked on radio whether she stands by her statement last year not to come back for more borrowing or more tax rises.
"I think everyone can see the world has changed in the last year and we are not immune to that," she says.””

So, setting expectation for the budget Hmm and it looks like the new plan is to spend and tax. Plus ca change whenever Labour gets into power, then!

I’m not really sure what has changed so much in the last year though. Apart from the decimation of the UK economy through various Labour policies, of course.

There are a couple of other threads where supporters are denying Labour's impact on economy/their performance in polls etc.

Yes, the impact has been Labour's decimation of the economy.

I think they have just given up

No they’ve diversified into other threads (in addition to the one concentrating on their obsession with Farage. Some with a NC, some without a NC. But they’re there pedalling the same sorry old shit.

DancingFerret · 29/09/2025 12:39

Softening us up for the inevitable tax hikes Reeves stated, 'the world has changed' - a bit like the supposed 'unexpected' financial black hole she stated they inherited from the Conservatives.

What is it about incompetents that the fault is always someone else's, not theirs?🤨

RR using ‘I think we know the world has changed “???

how has whats going on around the world affected our economy to the extent that Reeves can lay blame entirely on ‘the world’

Id like Reeves to explain that comment because No We don’t know!!
It’s a classic patronising comment to the electorate

She needs another scapegoat other than the Conservatives to hide her financial ineptitude.
