Labour isn't working - Thread 10

A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I’m appreciating some of those new smaller words too, pathetic, wanker, liar and rubbish

Edited

I thought, small though it is, 'traitor', slipping into 2025 was pretty startling - even I wouldn't go that far.

Rivalled · 29/09/2025 16:09

i’d see if you can find someone managerial that works at the company on LinkedIn, and DM the cv over.

More in Common, asking people to sum Starmer up in a word. June 2004 Vs 2025 September. It's a picture of bad moving to worse, look how much 'Weak', 'Incompetent' and 'Useless' has really grown over the year.

Edited

Boring has shrunk quite a bit.
They are definitely not boring. Weak, incompetent and useless all accurate.

Can you imagine if boring was the high tide mark of your popularity? 😂

He filled out a form. Name, address , age, school.
He'd worked out he needed to stand near the door that all the managers come from as they only seemed to consider those nearest that door.

He gave his name. They looked at his form and literally said ‘ wrong school mate ‘. Then immediately moved on to the guy next to him. No discussion.

He’s tall, athletic and well capable of heavy lifting etc.

I think as we have a right to ‘prefer not to say’ on pronouns crap he should say that next time. Maybe just put his Uni down or something ??

Edited

It sounds like total bullshit - and is most likely an individual idiot, or an individual site - you could email them and ask for policy.

Oof!

YouGov polling of Labour members, majority would vote for Burnham over Starmer in a leadership contest.

Burnham 62%
Starmer 29%
Don't Know 9%

Nice.

Let’s hope that Burnham keeps being ‘encouraged’ - anything to nutmeg our mate.

Reeves can lay blame entirely on ‘the world’

😂😂 This made me laugh. Just imagining any/ all heads of state, answering concerned questions raised by their electorate, with “[sigh] [shrug] I dunno.. it’s just The World, innit?”

That was really funny

CruCru · 29/09/2025 16:39

Reeves really is a dummy.

Instead of focusing on the supposed positives of ‘her’ achievements, she blames the hyperobject of global events.

I hope that the media superimposes both the live gilts and Fx curves over her whilst she’s delivering her catastrophic budget on 26th November.

I love that idea.
I remember the news had a permanently on screen currency ticker on the pound for Liz Truss.

Oof indeed. A bit tough when your own lot don’t like you.

Chances of Burnham being available to challenge Starmer are slim, mind, bearing in mind he's not an MP (yet).

TheNuthatch · 29/09/2025 17:51

Burnham may not be in a position to challenge just yet, but it's good to know that less than 30% of Starmer's audience tomorrow would vote for him to remain.

I don’t think it’ll happen. But still, the Starmer love is definitely more pronounced on here more than just about anywhere else.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/09/2025 17:54

Yes, @TheNuthatch and @EasternStandard. I agree with both of you.

I imagine whoever's name had been against Starmer would've come out on top.

DancingFerret · 29/09/2025 17:54

On the subject of cartoons, the original Spitting Image creators would have had a field day with the clowns currently in charge (I use the term loosely) of the UK; there's so much material there they'd not have known where to start.

Spitting image.have some good sketches of Starmer and Rayner on insta. Worth a follow when you need a giggle.
