A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. Labour isn't working.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Ooo that is an interesting turn of events. Mind you Starmer et al can’t stand Burnham. I think he’s too competent for them.

It is private companies like SERCO working for the home office - bring paid by us to sort out the ‘Asylum seekers’ into hotels. The hoteliers being paid also of course. By us.

So this shower of shit won’t go away easily. Too many people are making too much money from too many high value government contracts. Paid for by us.

And so. It is now our main intention to pay as little tax as legally possible. We will also prioritise private school pupils to offset labours errant social engineering.

Fuck you Labour.

The take over of our services by for profit has been a massive failure. Companies like Serco really started making money in what should have been state run institutions in the 80s under Thatcher and then ballooned after 2012 when they took over Suffolk NHS.

Even after being banned from bidding on contract for false accounting they are still one of only a few companies big enough to take over these contracts. So until the government can build these services back up themselves we are stuck with them.

It’s been going on for over 40 years though so I’m not sure how you can blame to current government.

SammyScrounge · 23/08/2025 11:56

I shudder to think we might ger Angela Rayner if Starmer goes.

Actually I think she’s ok. However Labour hate women, never mind rough around the edges northern ones with attitude.

Dr13Hadley · 23/08/2025 12:13

I’ve been reading since thread 3 and just popping in to add my support. I despise Starmer and what he is doing to the nhs trust I work in (along with everything else he is ruining). It’s lovely to have a space where we can talk and not get called “racist” or “thick as mince” by the fawning Starmer luvvies.

Has the Renters Rights bill been discussed here yet? A total disaster for both landlords and tenants.

Ah but it helps them feel better, and superior. They love it bless them ;) 💕

PS. Sometimes I think they know we reflect their deepest darkest thoughts but they’d rejoice in denying that.. enough froth for a foam party. Guffaw guffaw.

This is supposed to be a thread for people who don’t like Labour. The person who opened the thread made that very clear in their first post. So I’m not sure why you felt the need to post on here as you clearly don’t feel the same.

We hear your death knell Starmer..

At least 30 councils considering options over asylum hotels after Epping ruling

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 23/08/2025 12:29

I can’t see the need to be exclusive or unwelcoming. One of the biggest problems with MN’s Labourites is that that’s how they behave.

Hollyohara · 23/08/2025 12:34

@fruitbrewhaha I didn’t. However they are responsible for welcoming and increasing the number of asylum seekers. Which in turn increases the amount of tax payers cash being spent on the black hole of it all. Disastrous.

Hopefully Starmer will not be arrogant (yeah right) - and listen to one of his own with much more respect and experience.

Blunkett speaks sense and Starmer needs to capitulate. This is a balloon about to burst, if not.

I totally agree. Their modus operandi is to hound out people who don’t agree. It’s happening right now to some poor soul.

Sadcafe · 23/08/2025 12:42

Labour are doing really well aren’t they? Inflation up, illegal immigration at a record high, budget deficit massively increased( we know, they inherited it all from the tories) economy stalling, house building not happening due to shortage of skilled people , u turns on every major decision, unemployement seems to be the only thing going down, said it before though, Labour won because people were sick of the corruption in the Tory party, not because Sunak was doing a bad job, far from it, if his party wasn’t so bad his policies would probably have been showing significant results. Th3 real issue is, where is the opposition, not seeing much in Bandenoch to convince me they can win, which leaves the prospect of a hung parliament or reform, still 4 years left yet, think how much worse things could be by then

No, not exclusive or unwelcoming. Just anti-labour. The purpose of these threads was to provide a safe space (so to speak) for posters to moan about Labour, without being 'educated' and hounded by labour supporters on the errors of our ways. A regular occurance on other threads!

It was pretty nasty on MN for anyone who didn't want labour in the run up to the election, so it's nice to have a tiny corner of MN away from all that. ❤️

I think a lot of Labour supporters are blinded by ideology. The term ‘far-right’ is bandied about a lot, but you never hear ‘far-left’. Funny that. My husband’s view is that if they did this, then they will just make peoples’ homes into state-owned homes. If god-forbid both parents die before their children that would effectively mean both kids potentially being taken into care and the parents’ assets, family home etc, taken by the state. Evil.

Even if I get to old age and they take everything from me on death, the government are going to have to step in and support my disabled children. We've been supporting our children for years and will probably do so until we die; I hope to leave them something to survive on. Of course many people on the left rarely think beyond their privileged ideological bubble.

Sorry I don’t know the answer but I can ask my financial adviser next week if you like ? Probably like most things financial it isn’t completely straightforward.

Thanks for that , but it wasn't for me, I was just musing generally .

It's so nice to get some humour again, Labour are the most sour and dreary group we've had in yonks. Zero personality yet also zero capability.

Hello - new here! I am still smarting from the nasty attack launched on me on the “slitting throats” thread. There was a group whose ideology was as clear as day and very unpleasant with it too. Hopefully here will offer more pleasant discourse!
