Anyone else appalled and shocked at Dawn French's social media video mocking the reaction to the terror attack in Israel on Oct 6th. What on earth was she thinking ? She comes across as horrible and lacking in any empathy. I feel sorry for the innocent people on both sides of this war, in Palestine and in Israel.

“I seem to know”…I interpreted a video posted on social media. I don’t think Dawn French is hateful, do you?

I think her intention was financial gain.

I was talking about pogroms against the Jews. Thought it would be clear in context. Also stated this twice already to other posters.

My window cleaner has sent me a text to say that he is coming tomorrow to clean the windows. I am going to have to either go out all day with the dog or hide at home and avoid getting into a conversation with him, unlike the last time where he exposed himself to be a raging anti-Semite. Raging as in slurs, tropes and stereotypes. I made the mistake of telling him that I have an Israeli friend - she lives locally but her family are in Tel Aviv. Quick digression - she says that nearly all Israelis hate the settlers and that the one of the worst parts about 7 October was that the area targeted was populated by liberal Israelis who wanted to live in peaceful co-existence with the Palestinians. Netanyahu is a very unpopular leader and only remains in power because he has aligned himself with the far right religious zealots.

Back to the window cleaner. He asked me whether I thought he was Jewish because he has an Eastern European name. I said no. And then off he went. And now I daren’t tell him that my neighbour is Jewish with family in Israel as I am a worried that he might smash his windows.

So, thanks Dawn. Whip up a bit more anti Jewish feeling with your stupid voices.

And for the record Netanyahu is a c* for what he has done in retaliation. The whole thing is a shitshow and I can’t see an end to it.

What do you think the motivation is of someone with the Palestinian flag in their bio mocking the victims of 7th October and those who were horrified by it?

I certainly think her apology was motivated by her realisation that the backlash to her post could affect her advertising revenue

Head to her Instagram feed. Read the explanation and the apology that she posted. Oct 7 was horrifying. She acknowledges that. She’s also appalled by what’s happening to the Palestinian people as a result of the terrorist attack on Israeli people. Lost of people are.

Dawn French is entitled to an opinion on the world as she sees it . If she wants to put a Palestinian flag on her Instagram handle, that’s fine too.

Being forced to apologise is not an apology.

What do you suggest she does then?

Reflect and apologize properly?

I suggest she watches the "Bearing Witness' video on the atrocities at the Nova Festival on October 7. And then reviews her gurning, mocking, whining, baby-voiced statement, "Yeah, but, you know, they did a bad thing to us,I mean."

There is nothing she can say people will form their own opinions. She said what she was thinking and it backfired. When she realised she upset a lot people she took it back. People can either accept it or not. Dawn French is not everyone's cup of tea and people don't have to accept what she has said after the video.

Moving on in this crazy world. Since yesterday's debacle with Dawn French Greta has travelled by boat to Palestine. To do what I don't know. We are living in a mad world and all we can do is try to fly straight and not get caught up in it.

Moving on in this crazy world. Since yesterday's debacle with Dawn French Greta has travelled by boat to Palestine.

Greta and her friends have been captured and given snacks by the Israelis. They will be forced to watch the "Bearing Witness" video of the October 7 atrocities it has been said by the Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz. Meanwhile:

"The tiny amount of aid that was on the yacht and not consumed by the 'celebrities' will be transferred to Gaza through real humanitarian channels."

Apparently they’ve refused to watch the video showing some of the atrocities videoed by Hamas and civilians themselves, according to the Israeli Defence Minister.

Not sure if they were going to get shown the censored or uncensored version, The censored one is bad enough.

You’d want to know who and what you were supporting before you embarked on a voyage like that surely, so maybe they’ve already seen it.

If they had, I’m surprised they weren’t a teeny bit apprehensive about going into Gaza.

Thankfully Israel saved them from any harm!

She must be a very stupid and insensitive woman who has an inflated opinion of her own worth.
She should avoid subjects on which she has no ability or intellect to comment on.
I hope there are consequences for her to teach her a lesson.
