@LittleRedRidingHoody welcome aboard. I’d say the more the merrier, but we’re not exactly a merry bunch!

If you want to keep up on going’s on and are a fan of podcasts, I’d really recommend following The Rest is Politics US and Pod Save America. The later can be a tad too liberal (for my personal tastes) at times, but they’re good at giving an overview of what is going on.

Pretty sure he'll try to run in 2028 - Bannon etc are already pushing it. Either change 22nd amendment via the process described in the constitution (hard) or simply ignore it (easy). Discount results from states that refused to add him to the ballot and he'll be back in. When you own all the branches of government you can do whatever you want.

There is a reason that Vance will not go to Ukraine. He is an online person. Last year at the Munich Security Conference, he refused to meet Zelens'kyi, on the justification that he knew everything he needed to know already. Then he spent time on the internet in his hotel room and posted about certain adolescent concerns.

Here's a fun fact about Vance that I didn't know. He touts himself as a Marine Corps veteran, but when you dig into it he was a "military journalist" and his deployment to Iraq in 2005 was in a non-combat role where he wrote articles and took photos.

The fact he got some medals means next to nothing - the US military dish them out like sweets. DH once told me that US military used to get a medal clasp for spending 30 days in Northern Ireland as they classified it as a war zone. They could get this medal up until 2007!
