What cosmetic procedures have you had done?

Just out of curiosity!
I'll go first. I'm 30.

Botox
Lip filler
Tear trough (this has to be one of my faves)
Nose filler
Composite bonded veneers (no shaving of teeth!)
Labiaplasty
Chin lipo
Gel nails
Individual lashes (no crazy spider lashes)
Tanning moisturiser every 2 weeks
Pedicure every 4.
Hair cut and highlighted every 3 months

Looking at that list I realise it's quite high maintenance. I'm curious as to what other posters have had done. And what has changed your life and can't live without?

Also, no need for the usual lot to come on and fall over themselves to tell us that they've had nothing done. I know it's not for everyone! :)

It's for chavs and insecure people.

But you're so secure in yourself that you feel the need to name call others?

Gotcha, yes, you look so secure

I have my hair cut once a year and use moisturiser when I remember. I wish I had the time, energy and money!

Those injections are meant to be amazing! They're the sperm injections aren't they?

Yes the sperm ones! My doctor mentioned them and was like have you heard of them before? Was like erm nope, he followed up with “they’re the salmon sperm ones” 😂 apparently they’re great for general skin brightness/complexion as well as scar healing

Honestly no need to feel sorry for me, it's given me so much confidence.

Chemotherapy (lots of it) destroyed my face and teeth, and took away so much volume. I hated myself afterwards. These have made me feel completely myself again.

Well good for you. Ghastly disease with a really rough treatment. Fill your boots, whatever makes you happy and gives you confidence. Best of health.

We've got one ladies!!! So secure in herself she resorts to name calling! Be careful, that bitterness will cause you to age prematurely and adorn your face with a sour expression.

how do they get the sperm out of the fish !!?

Longtallgirl1 · 19/12/2024 11:47

Hair cut/coloured every 6 months.
Biab nails
The tinted moisturiser tan stuff once a week at home
Tint my brows once a week at home

I'm 40.

Can't think of anything else. I do want to try false lashes but I'm a bit worried I'll look stupid.

Longtallgirl1 · 19/12/2024 11:53

On the subject of people looking worse/better.

I was speaking to someone recently and she told me she'd had quite a bit done. You'd never have known, she looked completely natural.

Some people definitely go too far and end up looking strange and older than they actually are.

TotallyTwisted · 19/12/2024 09:43

Well, I am neither vain nor made of money so none of that apart from the haircut. Like a normal person.

Normal people don’t tend to have those kinds of chips on their shoulders about inoffensive things.

@finchyyy 46 and I use tretinoin and spf religiously, so often get mistaken for late 30s.

I have veneers too which like you I needed after chemo.

Electrolysis every month to tame the peri mono Ronnie and neck beard 🧔‍♀️

I’ve started to have facials more regularly and buccal massage to release jaw tension - I look really rested once I’ve had that done.

I’ve started taking collagen supplements as well and noticed an improvement in the fine lines that started appearing on my forehead.

Hair is a bloody disaster zone though as it’s half grey, half brown, every texture from stick straight fine through to coarse and curly. 2025 is the year that beast gets tamed!

I think would love to be a pedi / mani person but I manage to break every nail and gel polish wigging days so not a cost effective treatment.

Lentilweaver · 19/12/2024 11:59

Oh I do use Tret, but I didn't consider that a procedure. It's fantastic though. I don't feel I need anything else, and as I said, I am nearly 53.

sunshinechaser · 19/12/2024 12:01

I'm get Botox twice a year.
I've had fillers over the years-
Cheeks twice in 10 years
Tear trough fillers. Wouldn't get again
Nasolabial lines about 10 years ago. I have used tret for years and think this is better than fillers.
Recently had filler in my nose which was brilliant! Fixed my hook nose instantly!
Upper blepharoplasty for mega hooded eyes. Best thing ever.
Composite bonding in my teeth.
Tooth implant on a back molar-does that count?

MumJumpers · 19/12/2024 12:06

I get tear trough filler. My tear troughs are really, really bad, possibly due to a chronic uncontrollable dust allergy. When they're done, you can't tell, I just look fresh faced.
I also have composite bonding to fix a broken front tooth and to fill the gaps between other teeth - I looked like I had food in my teeth all the time until I got the gaps filled.
I've had 2 sets of braces and Invisalign.
Tooth whitening to match my teeth to the bonding (coffee addict haha).
Can you tell I've got naturally really bad teeth lol?
I tried Botox earlier this year for frown lines and I still can't decide if I was happy with the result or not. I haven't had it done again when it wore off.
LVL lash lifts every 6-12 weeks.
Hair... I just can't seem to find anyone who does a keratin treatment anymore but I used to get one religiously. Am thinking of trying highlights next time.
I'm generally open to trying anything that doesn't require a GA.

They basically squeeze it out by pressing the salmon 😂

Pic of my post-Invisalign teeth because it’s basically the best money I’ve ever
spent on something for myself

How much did you pay for invisalign and how long did you have treatment for? I'm thinking of getting it in the new year

I got a quote of £2200 for 14 weeks of treatment, whitening and a set of 3 retainers after treatment. After the 14 weeks, my teeth started moving back (even with the retainers!) so they then rescanned them and did another 5 week course and at the end put a fixed retainer on my top 4 front teeth (basically a thin wire glued to the backs, totally invisible). They didn’t charge me any more for the additional treatment/fixed retainer, which I thought was really good!!

None!

It's for chavs and insecure people.

Nothing says classy and secure like flinging insults at people for making choices that don’t impact you.

At least looks can be improved. Personalities are fixed. Which is bad news for you.

verysmellyjelly · 19/12/2024 12:18

OP, may I ask how much your veneers cost? I have awful awful teeth due to an underlying health issue (but nothing as serious as going through chemo) and I so wish I could get them fixed. I hate the entire appearance of my jaw and teeth but can't get jaw surgery as I am not considered well / strong enough for a major elective cosmetic procedure. I might possibly be able to get some veneers if I made a strong case for the mental health benefits, though!

LazyArsedMagician · 19/12/2024 12:22

I have regular haircuts, occasionally get my nails done and a lash lift. That's it.

If I could, I'd have my breasts done. I'm fat and in my 40s, I have made my peace with my body mostly, but the fact that my nipples literally are on the underneath of my breasts and point at the floor (did even before they got huge) really upsets me.

pinkyredrose · 19/12/2024 12:23

What did you do to your tear troughs?

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 19/12/2024 12:23

Shave my head once a month
Tidy up my beard once a week
I squeeze a couple of spots every few weeks

Think thats about it.

nanodyne · 19/12/2024 12:24

I had botox to sort my 11s once but it wore off so quickly that I figured it would become an expensive habit if done regularly. I used to get my hair done every couple of months but recently have been trying to see what colour it is naturally - will probably get balayage redone in the new year. Stopped getting gels only because I read there's a link between the UV heat-lamps and skin cancer - they're just mini sunbeds.
Would consider a tummy tuck after two GD pregnancies because it's just a flap of skin now, but at the moment can't justify the spend. I don't feel like fillers would do anything for me at the moment since my lips are still very full and I have a youthfully chubby face at 38, but I do think they can look good when done tastefully (not personally a fan of the overfilled instaface).

Over40Overdating · 19/12/2024 12:30

@nanodyne massage can help 11s - you need to release the muscle by rubbing in the opposite direction to the lines. So horizontal - it won’t get rid of them but will soften.

honeylulu · 19/12/2024 12:40

I'm 50 and this year i had botox (done twice now) to remove my frown lines. I was really pleased with it and it also had the effect of lifting my eyebrows/hooded eyes. I don't look surprised, just properly awake! I also had a little filler in the upper part of each cheek which just lifted my face slightly and made it look less saggy/tired. I have had 3 lots of polyneuclitide in injections under my eyes as the area had got quite dark and hollow looking. It's improved the darkness and skin tone but still looks hollow. (I'm unsure about tear trough fillers as have heard mixed reviews; might save up for a face-lift!)

Before this year I didn't have any injectable treatments as I didn't feel I needed it, but decided to treat myself for my big birthday.

I've had my eyebrows tattooed to be a bit more defined though they are natural looking (not black slugs). I get eyelashes done each year for holiday but not year round.

Dye hair (home box dye) to cover greys. Also eyebrow hair. Get a trim twice a year (long unstyled hair).

Have had laser hair removal (legs, armpits, hollywood).

Do own nails once a week and carry the nail polish around in handbag to touch up chips.

Wear full make up every day and do a home facial once a week (this is really a deep clean). Alternate retinol serum or vit c serum nightly. Hyaluronic acid and spf moisturiser in the morning. Skin is really not very wrinkly for my age.

Dental hygiene treatment every 4 months (have previously had implants to replace lost teeth so keeping on top of gum hygiene is paramount). Would like whitening but have been warned it could be hard to manage matching and maintaining the natural tooth colour to the implant colour.
