What cosmetic procedures have you had done?

Just out of curiosity!
I'll go first. I'm 30.

Botox
Lip filler
Tear trough (this has to be one of my faves)
Nose filler
Composite bonded veneers (no shaving of teeth!)
Labiaplasty
Chin lipo
Gel nails
Individual lashes (no crazy spider lashes)
Tanning moisturiser every 2 weeks
Pedicure every 4.
Hair cut and highlighted every 3 months

Looking at that list I realise it's quite high maintenance. I'm curious as to what other posters have had done. And what has changed your life and can't live without?

Also, no need for the usual lot to come on and fall over themselves to tell us that they've had nothing done. I know it's not for everyone! :)

OP, may I ask how much your veneers cost? I have awful awful teeth due to an underlying health issue (but nothing as serious as going through chemo) and I so wish I could get them fixed. I hate the entire appearance of my jaw and teeth but can't get jaw surgery as I am not considered well / strong enough for a major elective cosmetic procedure. I might possibly be able to get some veneers if I made a strong case for the mental health benefits, though!

Of course!

I had Invisalign, whitening (at the dentist, not bought online) x rays, a filling filled, and 16 full composite veneers 8 on top and 8 on bottom, I paid £8995. It was 2 years ago and this picture is very recent.

I think PPs teeth who added a pic earlier they look fabulous too. Composite bonding can be done by also just edging the teeth which is heaps cheaper. But there is absolutely no drilling or shaving needed. I love my teeth, but only got them done due to chemo wrecking my teeth beforehand

What did you do to your tear troughs?

Filled them

This thread is very disingenuous, in the way the OP waited to throw in that massive dripfeed about some of the surgery being post-chemo reconstruction- which very few people wouldn’t think was a reasonable and positive step- but then conflating that with entirely unrelated and unnecessary cosmetic procedures. Very many people don’t see those two things as the same at all.

Interested in this thread?

Nothing, apart from highlighted hair, that I only started doing this summer.

Planning to get upper blepharoplasty next year though. My sagging eyelids look 20 years older than the rest of me!

JBJ · 19/12/2024 12:54

Nothing. Never even had my nails done/hair coloured/eyebrows waxed. In fact, I think it's 18 months since I even had a haircut! Going to maybe look at dying my own hair though as the grey is starting to take hold (mid 40's). I'm very low maintenance and hate being faffed around with

Disingenuous?

I'm sorry you're professionally offended by that. Would you prefer if I amended my title to CANCER PATIENT LABIAPLASTY? Would that help?

My mums friend had just had this done under local anaesthetic, it's knocked years off her!

I once had an afro hair style done back in the 70s/80s, apart from that everything as it should be .

Scutterbug · 19/12/2024 13:01

Nothing. But I don’t leave the house so getting anything done like that would be a bit difficult!

FinaleyDee · 19/12/2024 13:03

Polynucleotides under my eyes (for my huge, lumpy under eye area), above my brow (helped lift my hooded eyes) and across my cheeks (for rosacea).

I’ve also just started with SQT biomicroneedling treatments for my awful spotty, oily, rosacea skin. Only had two so far but the results have been incredible, along with the polynucleotides. To call them life changing would be a bit extreme but it’s not far off.

Burntout101 · 19/12/2024 13:03

None. I've never had my eyebrows done, or my nails done at a salon. Have my hair cut once or twice a year. I'd love to look smarter but I really can't be arsed.

App13 · 19/12/2024 13:05

45
Natural dye my hair every 4 weeks ish
Recently had skin booster once
Nothing else skin looks decent for my age id say

With respect OP, you listed everything in your post as a cosmetic procedure, of which surgery for vulvar cancer definitely isn’t.

Over40Overdating · 19/12/2024 13:17

@Jellycats4life if we are doing disingenuous ‘with respect’ posts, why are people who are so anti procedures and allegedly so happy with how they look without, so keen to have digs at women who feel better about themselves if they spend time and money on their appearance?
And regardless of whether they have an acceptable reason or not?

Someone having a cosmetic procedure to boost their self confidence is not any less worthy than someone having a corrective procedure due to medical reasons.

If people who do have cosmetic treatments started insulting people who don’t in the same way, there would be outrage. And rightly so. People are allowed to do what feels right for them without justifying it to anyone else. Whether it’s to your own personal taste or not is irrelevant. And making value judgements about people according to their physical appearance can work both ways and be as offensive in both cases.

FindingMeno · 19/12/2024 13:19

Mid 50's.
I have highlights a couple of times a year and occasional acrylic nails.
Would love to get my teeth whitened.

Mydogisamassivetwat · 19/12/2024 13:22

None at 45. And I never will either. Too scared to fuck with my face. I am the one who it would go wrong for. And I don’t care what the rest of my body looks like, really.

I don’t do nails etc, never even been arsed with make up.

I dye my own hair, get it cut down the road by an old lady a few times a year for £8.

The only thing I do regularly is get my eyebrows waxed. If I didn’t, I’d make a pretty convincing liam Gallagher impersonator.

finchyyy · 19/12/2024 13:24

'With respect OP, you listed everything in your post as a cosmetic procedure, of which surgery for vulvar cancer definitely isn’t.'

@Jellycats4life

With respect to you, you don't know where my cancer is located. So try again.

All I’m saying is I agree that it’s disingenuous to type out a laundry list of cosmetic procedures and enhancements, knowing full well it’s going to cause controversy, before doing a quick 180 to say “ACTUALLY this was all because I had cancer” to make people feel bad about commenting.

I mean vulvar cancer surgery and labiaplasty aren’t even the same procedure, so I’m starting to think that OP was on a wind up.

MaidOfSteel · 19/12/2024 13:28

I had a nose job about 30 years ago.
I have my hair cut every 6 weeks and lowlights every six months. That's about it. I'm 55.

JellyComb · 19/12/2024 13:32

I'm 53 and have had:

Front top 4 teeth veneered—because they sloped inwards like a shark.
I have my roots done every 4 weeks at the salon as i am dark brunette.
I have hair extensions to add thickness rather than length as Menopause made my hair thin.
I have BIAB nails done every 3 weeks.
I have had Inverted Nipple correction surgery.
I have had Upper Blephoroplasty for hooded eyelids.

I've never had injectables, but having recently lost 4 stone on Mounjaro I am seriously thinking about it as my face looks older suddenly.

fivebyfivebuffy · 19/12/2024 13:33

Botox but not for years
Cosmetic bonding on a couple of teeth
Haircut curly specialist but only every 9 months
Micropigmentation eyebrows

Do my own nails and dermaplaning

FoxtonFoxton · 19/12/2024 13:44

Barely anything beyond hair cut and colour.
I do my own nails, and I'm too scared to have anything like filler as I've seen the results first hand where they have gone wrong. I've seen some fantastic results as well, but when it goes wrong it really goes wrong. My friend had a boob job years ago and has had horrendous issues from the time they went in to the current day. She regrets them immensely. I have another acquaintance who had problem lip filler and has spent months getting it dissolved properly. As much as it's tempting to get procedures, I'm too anxious!

Over40Overdating · 19/12/2024 13:46

@Jellycats4life OP hasn’t mentioned vulvar cancer that I can see, only labiaplasty. Which as you say are not the same so whoever is on a wind up, it’s not OP.

If people only feel bad for being a self righteous dick if it’s pointed out that a procedure was done after cancer rather than for the mortal sin of vanity, they still deserve to feel like a dick because it’s still not their business.

bittertwisted · 19/12/2024 13:51

53
Breast uplift and implants, had disgusting tubular boobs, best thing I've every done for myself
Hair highlighted every 8 weeks
Botox twice year
0.5 filler in lips once a year
Powder brows
Gel nails once a month

Redcrayons · 19/12/2024 13:55

Hair - first dyed at 35 to cover greys.
Eyebrows and top lip - threaded every 3/4weeks
Many manicures and pedicures over the years, currently in a month on/month off with gels.
I own a IPL machine and hairs on my legs have pretty much gone

I’ve not has anything more invasive and thanks to good genes I’m not too wrinkly so not considering Botox.

im starting to get a bit jowly, so I would do something about that if I could.
