What cosmetic procedures have you had done?

Just out of curiosity!
I'll go first. I'm 30.

Botox
Lip filler
Tear trough (this has to be one of my faves)
Nose filler
Composite bonded veneers (no shaving of teeth!)
Labiaplasty
Chin lipo
Gel nails
Individual lashes (no crazy spider lashes)
Tanning moisturiser every 2 weeks
Pedicure every 4.
Hair cut and highlighted every 3 months

Looking at that list I realise it's quite high maintenance. I'm curious as to what other posters have had done. And what has changed your life and can't live without?

Also, no need for the usual lot to come on and fall over themselves to tell us that they've had nothing done. I know it's not for everyone! :)

52
Have had:
botox twice about 10 years ago. Would have it again if work picked up
Hair cut and coloured every 3/4 months
Gel nails a few times a year
Eye brows laminated/tinted

Would like:
Vaser on my jowls
Microblading
ore botox or fillers - not sure what I need! Crows feet....

Could do with but would never do as too drastic:
Rhinoplasty to narrow nose
Lipo on legs (have mild lipoedema so legs always look a bit fat and not much on an ankle)
Face lift - I have mediterranean skin so quite oily which means it's not bad at all, but 52 is still 52....

Can I ask about the chin filler OP? My chin isn't strong enough - especially against my jowly neck - does it make a significant difference?

Terrifying that Botox and lip filler is now low maintenance. I mean, do it if you want. But it's not low maintenance!

stanleypops66 · 20/12/2024 11:23

I'm 42. I've had Botox and lip blush and I have monthly facial treatments alternating between Moxi, bbl, skin pen, chemical peel and hydra facial. I get my nails done every 3-4 weeks. I dye my own hair and get it cut twice a year.

I colour my own hair that's about it but I'd love to have my teeth done (mine are horrendous due to tooth disease, hereditary from my mom) & I'm hoping I can get something done this year. I'd also love to do facials etc to help with rosacea but as a single mom to 2 ,time & money play a factor in it but hopefully I might be able to get there. I'm not very into treatments but good on anyone who is,I see nothing wrong with it.

Does lip blush hurt? I'm looking into it as the results can be so lovely!

What's terrifying about it?

Not to your taste, maybe, or even unusual in your environment or circle, but terrifying? Really? It's just a sign of the times to be honest. It's very normal / usual in my area, work place and social circle.

Hello!

I haven't had chin filler, I've had jaw filler but I didn't carry on with it as it made my jaw a little too chiseled.

I had chin lipo. I've always been a slim size 8 but after chemo for some reason my child absolutely ballooned with water and fat. No matter how much weight I lost, it wouldn't budge. So I got chin lipo. Cost £4000 with a GA, was incredibly easy to recover from and no scarring. It was done with a very tiny incision no bigger than a lentil so I literally had one stitch! But that procedure really didn't change me and my life, I was so insecure with how I looked post chemo.

But Jaw filler in answer to your question made a huge difference, possibly a little too much even, so I only ever had that the once and not chin filler :)

Thanks so much for your reply, OP! I hugely appreciate it. It's incredibly encouraging to hear from a "real person" who isn't trying to sell anything (or alternatively, scare me off). Really good of you to take the time to type out such a detailed response to my question, and I want you to know I'm grateful! Sorry to see you've had some nasty responses from a few posters. I think it's great that you can look and feel your best Smile

You're very welcome :)

Actually, I would argue that having Botox is very low maintenance. I have it done twice a year and the appointment takes less than half an hour. So, maybe an hour out of my year? But it means I can have a very simple, time saving skincare routine that doesn't use particularly expensive products.

No cream, scrub, lotion or serum gets rid of wrinkles. Botox does.

I disagree with you that no cream gets rid of wrinkles as my Tret plus sunscreen plus Nivea routine costs me less than £20 per year ( i get it overseas for pennies) and takes no time or money at all. I have no wrinkles.

We likely have different definitions of high maintenance.

Tabbyandwhite · 20/12/2024 14:10

I would not say any of those things you've had done are 'cosmetic procedures'.

The only true cosmetic procedure I've had is breast implants in my 20's. If I could turn back the clock I wouldn't bother, easy to say in retrospect.

I've had lazer eye surgery, lazer hair removal, Invisalign & composite bonding. I go to the chiropodist regularly and get my hair done.

No fillers etc and I wouldn't want to undergo a GA again, not for cosmetic reasons anyway. Wouldn't say I'm high maintenance.

Ooooo fun!! I'm 36.

360 vaser lipo on tummy and back
Thigh lipo
Arm lipo
Botox - every 12 weeks:
Forehead
Crows feet
11s
Bunny nose
Gummy smile
Chin
Lip flip

Filler every 12 months:
Chin
Cheek
Temples
Those lines by the side of your nose toward your mouth

Invisalign and teeth whitening

Lashes every 3 weeks

Gel extensions every 3 weeks

Boob job is next on the list!

High maintenance! Must cost a fortune! Surgery might work out cheaper! Sounds like a hell of a lot of filler. Aren’t you scared of getting “ pillow face”?

Frangywangywoowah · 20/12/2024 14:32

47
Laser eye surgery (I class as cosmetic as could have just carried on with contact lenses)
Teeth bleaching
Botox
Balyage twice yearly
Eye brow wax
Gel nails couple times a year..love them at the time but hate what they do to my nails

Frangywangywoowah · 20/12/2024 14:34

IncessantNameChanger · 19/12/2024 14:42

Gel nails but they ruin my nails so not very often.
Balayage once or twice a year. I'm lazy

Exactly why I have balyage too lol

@Lentilweaver

There's a difference between preventing wrinkles and stopping them getting worse, and completely banishing them in an instant.
The only thing that actively reverses wrinkles is botox by relaxing the muscle. A cream or treatment won't do that I can't imagine. At most it will just prevent wrinkles?

Nothing beyond hair cuts yet really, but I plan a breast reduction and uplift after I have 1) stopped breastfeeding then 2) lost weight post breastfeeding.

For 2) I'm going to do weights, but I'm also likely to go down the wegovy/mounjaro route. I've lost over 100lbs before, so I'm incredibly realistic about my capacity to do that again in my present circumstances (I maintained the weight loss for 3 years, but unfortunately long covid absolutely ruined me).

Last time I lost 100lb I was very lucky to have little to no loose skin, but if that doesn't happen this time, I'll do some body-sculpting type surgery too. My boobs are j-k cups, and remained so even when deflated by weight loss, so I just want them to be on the normal size of big for once.

VeryStressedMum · 20/12/2024 15:04

I have botox regularly, I need some filler but I'm quite scared of it so haven't done that yet but I'll try skin pen micro needling first as my aesthetician said that will really help my face after losing a lot of weight. I don't look bad but feel my lower face has dropped quite considerably.

I probably need a tummy tuck and boob lift but in clothes I look fine and noone sees that except my husband

I'm looking into buying a red light mask thing as I've heard it's good

If I had more money I would get more treatments.

VeryStressedMum · 20/12/2024 15:05

Also in a few years I will need my hooded eyelids sorted out !

ThePoshUns · 20/12/2024 15:26

I'm 52
I get my hair cut and highlighted every 3 months
I have had my teeth whitened
I use tretinoin

I do my own nails.

You've had a lot done for your age OP but it sounds like you've been through a lot too and if that helps you feel better about yourself all power to you .

Vicotto · 20/12/2024 16:46

I’m 34 and currently don’t get anything done really except hair balayage a couple of times a year, but having two young children who don’t like to sleep much has left me looking a bit haggard 😣
I’d be open to Botox/something to reduce the lines around my eyes, my main concern is does it become addictive? I worry I’d just want more and more and take it too far!
It’s all a bit irrelevant for me at the moment as I can’t really afford anything much with 2 lots of nursery fees 😅 I’m increasing my retinol products and going to start taking some collagen and hope that will help a bit for the next year or two! Definitely not ruling anything out for the future though.
Hope you are well now OP, I bet you look beautiful & glam xx
