What cosmetic procedures have you had done?

Just out of curiosity!
I'll go first. I'm 30.

Botox
Lip filler
Tear trough (this has to be one of my faves)
Nose filler
Composite bonded veneers (no shaving of teeth!)
Labiaplasty
Chin lipo
Gel nails
Individual lashes (no crazy spider lashes)
Tanning moisturiser every 2 weeks
Pedicure every 4.
Hair cut and highlighted every 3 months

Looking at that list I realise it's quite high maintenance. I'm curious as to what other posters have had done. And what has changed your life and can't live without?

Also, no need for the usual lot to come on and fall over themselves to tell us that they've had nothing done. I know it's not for everyone! :)

I'm 44. In 2022 I did six months of heavy weight lifting with a personal trainer. It transformed my body - my neck was rock solid with no loose skin, my cellulite was gone.

My Other thing is face yoga. If you good it there are some genuinely transformative photos. I figured it's like saving £1.50 a day a year for 10 mins of time compared to doing botox twice a year.

I've also had scelerotherapy on my legs. It removes spider veins.

Being strong counts more longevity wise. And muscle is free apart from gym membership.

Does a labiaplasty tighten things up down there or is it just for the aesthetic?

Ive had botox (not something i do regularly as it wears off after 3 months too expensive to upkeep, maybe once or twice a year if ive got somewhere to go and it does make a big difference), cheek filler I've had once and its still there, lost a lot of weight and my face looked like it had dropped, chin filler (I originally went for lip filler but was told my chin was very receded and she wouldn't do it without the chin or my lips would protrude out and the chin would look worse), lip filler (pretty much dissolved now. I'm too scared to have them done again as I wanted a subtle, natural enhancement, and they were too "filled" and unnatural for my liking, but I was too scared to dissolve them so waited for them to go themself)

Also had natural looking under the muscle breast implants last year, as I was flat and always have been. Wouldn't let DH see me naked, no one had ever seen me naked. Couldn't go for a shower without having a panic attack and checking the door was locked a million times. I was bullied throughout school for being flat, think I had some PTSD and body dysmorphia perhaps? But I came in to a bit of inheritance and got them done and I feel so much better. They are very natural I wish I'd gone bigger now but the relief of not having a panic of being naked or not being able to look at myself in the mirror has been life changing for me.

I also had a mole removed if this counts that was on my bottom lip line many years ago. It was a big brown mole, right on my lip line that was very obvious. I never wore lipstick as the mole would then turn the lipstick colour as it was obviously attached to my lip and then I'd have a pink/ red / whatever colour lipstick mole and I used to hate it.

I had labiaplasty done for both cosmetic and medical reasons.
They would get caught and I couldn't wear seamed bottoms. If I wore lace knickers it would cut the circulation off and become very painful. I had repeated UTIs which have also (may or may not be linked) disappeared since having the labiaplasty. I also didn't ever let my husband see me naked as I was too ashamed. It's completely changed my life. It doesn't tighten anything as the actual vagina isn't touched, but I can wear any underwear now or bottoms, our sex life has hugely improved, I can horse ride without discomfort and running doesn't cause chafing.

I'm so sorry you went through that, bullying can leave mental scars forever. I'm a firm believer of if you think something will help you and you can afford it, go for it! I've tried therapy and had no avail for my post chemo face which is why I turned to cosmetic procedures.

A breast augmentation that's also intrigued me but I don't think I'd get it done.

I also agree that lips can be completely overfilled. I'm so sorry you've gone through all of that, it's horrific. Bullying is never okay and no one should be shamed for anything on their appearance, whether it's had work or not!

Age 60. Hair dyed and cut approximately every 8 weeks and occasionally have my eyebrows waxed and shaped. Had individual false eyelashes once but didn't like the feeling.

@finchyyy just ignore the judgement, they get a kick out of you defending what you do.

I’ll admit I used to be a bit judgmental about some procedures…till I needed to do it for myself! The fillers I have probably aren’t even noticeable to anyone else, but I know these deep lines aren’t as deep (took 2ml each side, THAT’s how deep they are!) and thats all that counts

Thank you 🙏🏻

Did your fillers hurt at all? I've found lips the most painful, the tear trough was fine but the nose filler smarted a bit!

Jeezitneverends · 19/12/2024 10:00

@feelingbsck2reality my practitioner uses anaesthetic cream on me before she does the injections, it’s a little bit nippy but I don’t find it painful as such-I’ve definitely had 100x worse dental injections

Fontainebleau007 · 19/12/2024 10:01

I have a facial and get my eyebrows waxed and tinted and my eyelashes tinted every six weeks. Haircut every few months when I can be bothered. Can't afford anything else even if I wanted too 😂

finchyyy · 19/12/2024 10:02

mumoftwo1981 · 19/12/2024 09:55

I get my hair highlighted once every two months

I get my legs, bikini, lip, chin and eyebrows waxed regularly

I have a pedicure done three times over the summer

That's it :) I'm 33

I've never had the balls to have a bikini wax but I really want it done!!

Is the pain as awful as it's made out to be? I've been thinking about having laser but that's very permanent! I'm going to challenge myself to get a bikini wax in the new year for my holiday as I'm so sick of shaving and having shaving rashes on days 3-5. And I personally prefer not having pubes.

Hairdresser x2 per year
Expensive skin care
Bit of fake tan when I can be bothered

Barely any wrinkles and look a lot younger than I am (50)

Ohmygodnotnow · 19/12/2024 10:07

I started Botox for crows feet when I was 30. I've had some conservative filler in marionette liners and sculpture in my cheeks-it's brilliant, more natural than normal filler, I think. I had a very disfiguring eye condition so after reconstructive surgery I had a (necessary) blepharoplasty which was only partially successful. I have tear trough filler also because of the disfigurement. People sneering at the op for vanity have no idea what it's like to have no control over your face changing rapidly, it's awful.

A colleague of mine had Morpheus 8 and it's knocked ten years off her, so I'm saving up for that. I was just looking at pictures of myself last night from just before I gave birth and I've seriously aged in three years! In all other ways I have no vanity, no tanning/nails eyelashes etc. But I just want to look in the mirror and not be depressed!

Jeezitneverends · 19/12/2024 10:14

I forgot about the waxing-I have had Hollywood every 6 weeks for years. It’s for me as since it started growing at puberty, I’ve hated having pubic hair

It was okay! It wasn't painless by any means. I had it under general. I was sent home with cocodamol which I took for the first 3 days. By day 5 I was doing usual housework stuff. Took 3 weeks to feel 'normal'. Resumed sex after 4. Was slightly tender but fine after a few minutes.

Ibuprofen was the game changer for me. I did swell and bruise but I only needed a few days off work and then could resume working from home after that.

It has honestly changed my life and my husbands.

I hate it too and want it all gone but I've never had the guts to have it waxed! Presumably it's okay for you now but did your first wax hurt as much as is said?

I've heard good things about Morpheus 8, it's FDA approved too.
Isn't it a type of micro needling technique?

I'd like stuff done but I'm absolutely terrified of things going wrong. I'm surprised more people aren't put off by that. A woman on my local fb page is offering lip fillers for £70....you'd have to be absolutely mad

Cynic17 · 19/12/2024 10:20

None, because they are not necessary.
I'm nearly 60. I look nearly 60. And that's absolutely fine.

Lentilweaver · 19/12/2024 10:22

Is this thread only for people who have had something done?

I am nearly 53 and have had nothing done unless you count threading and colouring my roots. Am I allowed to reply?

Bogginsthe3rd · 19/12/2024 10:24

Just the usual by 35
Lashes
Nails
Botox
Lip filler
3D lipo
Plumbus tweaked

Great confidence boost and I do it for myself rather than anyone else !

niadainud · 19/12/2024 10:24

Bloody hell.

None, other than haircuts and occasional eyebrow waxing.

Lentilweaver · 19/12/2024 10:25

What is a plumbus tweak? I googled but none the wiser.

KnittedCardi · 19/12/2024 10:26

OP, I am sorry to hear about your cancer, and the treatments do take a toll on you. I therefore think your situation is entirely different in needing to make yourself feel happy and healthy.

Olive567 · 19/12/2024 10:27

One crown on a broken tooth. Regular hair cut but no longer have highlights or colour. A bit of pruning back of body hair. That's it I think. I'm in 50's. I keep fit, look well maintained for my age I think, but have made conscious decision to embrace bits of my body that I wouldn't have chosen. And that is very freeing tbh.

ItGhoul · 19/12/2024 10:28

I get my nails done every three weeks and my hair cut every eight weeks and coloured every 12 weeks. That's pretty much it at the moment. I am considering getting some Botox in the new year though.

Genetics have been kind to me re. my teeth and eyelashes and I don't need anything to enhance them. I shape my own eyebrows. I'd definitely have my nose altered and an eye lift if I could afford it!

GroovyChick87 · 19/12/2024 10:30

I'm 37 and none. I don't like the look of botox and lip filler. I'm not judging anyone who has it but I don't feel I need it and don't want to ruin my looks with it. Maybe in a few years time I might feel differently so I'm not completely closed off but at the moment I don't want anything done.

LonelyInDville · 19/12/2024 10:32

People are so judgmental around here sometimes…

I’ve had a tummy tuck and lipo. And used to get acrylic nails but they are pricey and I’m too impatient to sit and get them done.

My hair has never grown long or full so I wear wigs. I used to get extensions but again I’m too impatient to sit and get them done 😂

i would love to plump up my lips as thin lips look ageing to me but can’t afford it.
