Are they up?
When did they go up?
If their not up when are you doing them?

Some, yes 😳😁

HaddyAbrams · 16/11/2024 20:19

Mine will go up on 22nd/23rd Dec ish.

Kittybelle123 · 16/11/2024 20:22

Mid December at the very earliest, up until twelfth night - seems most people’s have been taken down by then 🤷🏼‍♀️

Misspacorabanne · 16/11/2024 20:25

Last weekend of November/start of December! They stay up until the 3rd of January usually!

Scottishdreams1991 · 16/11/2024 20:26

1st of Dec and down on hogmanay .

Just like my mum used to do

GrumpyCactus · 16/11/2024 20:26

Most of my street. I'm beginning to think I'll be the only one left with no decorations up by the time December rolls around!

I don't get why everyone has put them up so early?

Changingagang · 16/11/2024 20:27

what ? From last Christmas? 🤪

Mum2jenny · 16/11/2024 20:27

No way, it’s much too early, maybe around the 21 Dec

LaurieFairyCake · 16/11/2024 20:27

I normally put them up the weekend before Christmas and I take a day off work to do it

But I seriously considered putting them up today as I'm working every weekend Blush

Tooty78 · 16/11/2024 20:30

I do as my Mum did, decorations up on the 12th, and down on the 6th January.

drspouse · 16/11/2024 20:31

Good Lord no. We put them up the day after the schools shut.

ShinyPrettyThings87 · 16/11/2024 20:32

I prefer to call them 'winter decorations' for the time being 😁 just garlands and the odd fairy lights are up because it's cold, dark and it's nice to have a cosy home. Christmas decs will be getting put up on Wednesday after some major DIY work gets finished! For those asking why, I LOVE Christmas and have spent probably hundreds on decs. I want to get my monies worth!
Plus, time flies in Dec. I want a chance to relax and enjoy my decorated home before the busy period starts.

FaceLikeACrackedScreen · 16/11/2024 20:34

We put some up today, very very early for us. We’ve had some devastating family news this week and teen DC said they’d like to put a tree up. Fine by me.

moggiek · 16/11/2024 20:36

Will go up on December 1st, down on January 3rd.

Not yet, tbh id like to as I always feel like the house is cosy with them up..:but I don’t want to get sick of them…my favourite part of Christmas is the chilled out “nothing days” in between Christmas and new year and I don’t want to spoil that by being sick of my decorations and ending up taking them down on Boxing Day like so many on MN seem to do!!!

Why? They'll be up for 2.5 weeks, give or take a day.

CalicoPusscat · 16/11/2024 20:39

It's nice to have a bit of sparkle as the cold and dark sets in!

Ratfinkstinkypink · 16/11/2024 20:39

I am moving next week so no decorations up yet. I might put the tree up on the 1st, the little one I foster is registered blind but can definitely see the lights of the tree when the room is dimly lit. He makes it his life's mission to get under the tree and explore it which means bits are forever falling off it but I love the look of delight on his face when he realises it's there. There are no many toys he can play with independently but playing with the tree is one thing he really enjoys.
