What’s a “small” change that hit you harder than it should have?

I’m still gutted about the recipe change for Robinsons Summer Fruits Refreshed. That was one of my absolute favourites, and Ribena Strawberry was right up there too, but I just can’t get into the new versions at all. I also never got over the switch they made to Robinsons Fruit & Barley Summer Fruits. Anyone else have a “small” change like this that just hit a little harder than expected? What have you been gutted about that's really not a big deal to others?

There used to be a Nestle cereal in a light brown box, the cereal was a bit like thin bran flakes and it had small lumps of crushed nuts in a crispy sugar coating, and sliced almonds. Loved it.

Nestle clusters?? They were absolutely delicious!! I had totally forgotten that they existed and now I’m craving them 😞

Milk being added to loads of things, especially monster munch and pringles. I'm allergic and very very cross.

Oh and Pacers (delicious chewy minty sweets) Discontinued some time in the 1980s and I'm still not over it.

I miss the Ordinary serum foundation that I used daily.... would love to know if anyone has found a similar replacement. And on the food front the fact that nearly everything has rapeseed oil in now 😩

If you find out let me know! This was my go-to as well, nothing sat better on my skin 😭😭😭

Waitinggame42023 · 15/11/2024 06:41

The tiny tins of John West 'Cracker Toppers' tuna in Mediterranean flavour.

Disappointed that M&S haven't brought back their Turkey dinner Christmas crisps fron a few years ago- turkey roast flavour standard potato crisps, nixed with vegetable crisps.

M&S bang bang dip.

Limited edition Champagne Marmite.

Becca First Light primer- felt cooling and feather light on, and the most beautiful glow for very fair skin. Nothing else like it on the very over-saturated market. The brand in general is a massive loss.

Benefit Posytint cheek and lip stain- again nothing else since similar, either gloopy, thick, sticky or greasy textures, or gaudy and unflattering colours that don't come close to the pretty pop it gave my colouring.

I most certainly do!

It’s not something to be proud of. I can’t believe you don’t put them outside. Do you kill bees as well?

AuntieJoyce · 15/11/2024 06:42

Cooking oil bottles that crinkle and collapse in your hand and spray oil all over in the kitchen

And I literally couldn’t open a lid on a bottle of water the other day. I loathe those new lids

ThatCosyKoala · 15/11/2024 06:42

Having to subscribe pretty much to everything these days oh and youtube before the endless ads I stopped watching it because of it.

Camparijane · 15/11/2024 06:43

@Thatcastlethere same on my road happened a couple of weeks ago. The light is so bright and white I feel like I’m living in bloody Narnia! I hate it.

The disappearance of Spud U Like

TheWayTheLightFalls · 15/11/2024 06:43

Attached lids on bottles of drinks which are single serve.

donkeydays · 15/11/2024 06:43

Something had happened to Radox. It used to create lovely thick fragrant bubbles but these days they just seem weak, small and papery thin.

EdithStourton · 15/11/2024 06:44

The loss of foil wrappers on chocolate, especially Quality Street at Christmas.

I don't mind the white street lights, except that they make it look as if a car is approaching.

Futurascope · 15/11/2024 06:45

Quality street wrappers not being shiny anymore. Christmas is forever ruined 😞

Lemanoir · 15/11/2024 06:46

That Cadbury mini eggs now taste a bit like chocolate sick.

Aldi stopped making marzipan chocolate bars that came in little packs of 5, 8 years ago. I still check the box of mini chocolate bars every time I go in to see if they have come back.

Aldi (again) used to do 80% organic chocolate bars, used to buy 5 at a time, they haven’t been there in months.

The speed limit change was made to cut road deaths.

It's a contentious issue, highly political topic.

Oh bore off! The whole of Wales has changed to 20mph to reduce engine emissions. There are different reasons you know.

Removing Worchester sauce french fries. To be honest that broke my heart and Im still not over it.

I have a multipack of these in my cupboard, you can still get them in NI.

I miss proper Walkers Worcester Sauce crisps. Every so often I think about them and get sad. The French fries ones taste completely different hence why they are still in the cupboard.

Years ago me and my friend bought bronzer powder from a concession stand in a shopping centre. I can’t actually remember the brand but it was the most amazing makeup I’ve ever owned. We still talk about it on nights out.

Ohwtfnow · 15/11/2024 06:49

Cadbury Roses 😢 I will never forgive them. I used to love the taste of them so much but they’ve been disgusting for a good 10 years now. Some of the flavours are completely inedible. Why oh why? It makes me sad every Christmas.

beckypv · 15/11/2024 06:49

Bring back McDonalds breakfast bagels

Double decker chocolate bars - in the 80/90s the chocolate base used to be amazing!

Angelofmycoins · 15/11/2024 06:49

Hotel Chocolate rose and violet creams - they have gone from heavenly to horrid and I can't buy them any more

deeahgwitch · 15/11/2024 06:51

Coty discontinuing Wild Musk perfume.
Feckers ! ☹️

Poisonwood · 15/11/2024 06:53

I’m sure Quality Street sales must have seen a significant drop. I buy a (very) large tin of danish butter cookies instead now, at Christmas.

I miss Toast Toppers so much!

Golden Syrup in squeeze bottles is just wrong, I only buy it in tins just to show them some of us don’t want the change.

Attached lids on single drinks…I’m sure they go flatter quicker since this change?

schmeler · 15/11/2024 06:53

Iwishicouldflyhigh · 15/11/2024 06:42

You can't believe phobias exist? As if you've got to this age not knowing that.

You learned something new today! Well done!

Nope I don't kill bees as I don't have a phobia of them. Do you understand what a phobia is?

Theunamedcat · 15/11/2024 06:54

Putting sweetner in everything! I'm gluten intolerant they put so much in I feel like I can't eat savoury anymore! I don't buy alternatives often but when I do I want an egg mayo sandwich that ISNT SWEET

Mlanket · 15/11/2024 06:55

Having to pre-book everything these days.

hate this, I want some spontaneity

Mlanket · 15/11/2024 06:56

@schmeler I have a spider phobia but I dint kill them…
