Looks like Trump could win?

It's looking good for Trump. My dad is a total Trump hater and has been convinced that he won't win, especially since Kamala took over.
I don't know how the system works but is it too early to say that Trump is going to win?

Most likely yes

Attelina · 06/11/2024 03:51

Let's hope he does.

Pumpkinspawn · 06/11/2024 03:51

The New York Times thinks so. I'm glued to Fox news & they are growing in confidence that Trump will win.

He's at 210, Kamala is at 113, whoever gets to 270 wins.

The swing states will determine the winner and even the NYT thinks Trump will win in those states, close but still.

She is catching up on him now

She is catching up in the States she was expected to win, strong democratic states, if she doesn't win the swing states she loses. The swing states are states that tend to swing back and forth between parties compared to eg California that is a strong blue state.

Aria999 · 06/11/2024 04:10

He's going to win 😖

Pumpkinspawn · 06/11/2024 04:13

Republicans have just won the Senate! The Democrats are being wiped out of government. They went too far to the left. Trump apparently has had huge amounts of Hispanic voters who would typically value family, their faith & are typically traditional. Harris didn't get the huge female vote she was expecting.

Kittykat86 · 06/11/2024 04:14

Do they always leave the swing states last to count?

SecretWitch · 06/11/2024 04:18

I'm so very afraid he is going to win. I'm in Indiana and knew he would win this state easily.

It's so fucking frustrating that people do not vote in their best interests. This man would not piss on you if you were on fire.

I'm very frightened for my daughters. I'm long past worrying about an unwanted pregnancy but my girls are 17 and 25.
Fortunately they reside in Massachusetts which is a solid liberal state. My heart is with all young women who may be affected by his dismantling of reproductive rights

I'm hoping Kamala pulls a Hail Mary in the early morning hours

everythingcrossed · 06/11/2024 04:25

NYT has said Trump has 91% chance of winning. I find it very hard to understand why anyone - but women in particular - would vote for him.

merrymelodies · 06/11/2024 04:27

All I can say at this point is that the Americans are getting what they deserve. God help the rest of us.

Viviennemary · 06/11/2024 04:28

All this name calling of Trump voters has rightly worked against Harris. People should be allowed to cast their votes without the derision of those who disagree with them. And celeb endorsements by the likes of Oprah and the dreadful Taylor Swift hasn't helped either. Who are they to tell folk how they should be voting.

HalfwomanHalfcookie · 06/11/2024 04:29

How bloody depressing 😞

Name calling? That's Trump's favourite pastime! Angry

I think it's partly to do with inflation and partly to do with experts behaving badly.

(It's fine to have BLM protests during Covid but not to go to church).

Absolutely, she had loads of celebrities like Paul Rudd out in colleges trying to keep students in line to vote. Pathetic. She needed so much "celebrity" endorsement & it got her nowhere. I'm delighted that Trump will probably win. I think it is wonderful for females that he had not been captured by gender ideology & has a very direct plan to stop males infiltrating female sports, toilets, changing rooms, prisons & all our protected female only areas.

Aria999 · 06/11/2024 04:42

@Pumpkinspawn

He does rape females. Also he tried to destroy democracy. Details...

Countrylife2002 · 06/11/2024 04:44

Ukraine 😟

NigelHarmansNewWife · 06/11/2024 04:44

Wow - some of these posts are like a parallel universe. @Viviennemary what's dreadful about Taylor Swift please?

@Pumpkinspawn Donald Trump has committed crimes against women. He doesn't give a shit about women's rights.

Countrylife2002 · 06/11/2024 04:45

That’s it then for American democracy. I was going to take dd after A levels to visit Washington and NY. We won’t be visiting now.

Tbh I am actually hopeful this will be a silver lining. He may stop attacking democracy because he won't need to. He won, he's not eligible to stand next time and even if he wants to bust that he'll be 82 so he may not bother.
