Looks like Trump could win?

It's looking good for Trump. My dad is a total Trump hater and has been convinced that he won't win, especially since Kamala took over.
I don't know how the system works but is it too early to say that Trump is going to win?

You can’t believe only women give birth if there’s no such thing as a woman. You’d have to say you are a strong believer that only birthing people can give birth. If you think carefully about what this means and the implications.

You still have a right to choose. People have a right to vote for who they think will serve them better, even if you disagree with them.

I'm not sure why you think there is 'no such thing as women'.. there clearly are - but the idea that women just have to behave a certain way is what I don't agree with.

The physicality of being female is 'very real'. The impact of the world being created for male bodies - that women's health is not looked into - that phones, cars, safety all revolve around me.

BUT..

You need the parts of a woman to give birth

In my opinion if you have the parts of a woman you are a woman - whether you want to be or not. ( I do understand there are a tiny number of people who are intersex.)

IMO - The whole 'birthing people' comes down to ' reducing women' and 'men' to 'set behaviours/characteristics - by saying 'you don't feel like a woman' what you are really saying is that you don't agree with what society says 'women should be' by being 'trans' - you are not really resolving the narrowing of female or male paths.

Utterly depressing

Stealthmodemama · 06/11/2024 05:24

No she didn't. She approved of males infilterating female sports & personal spaces.

Not a huge percentage of voters put that as a high concern. People care about the economy, immigration and abortion. From what I read.

Do they always leave the swing states last to count?

It’s not that they count them last, it’s that they actually have to count all of the votes before they can call it. They probably haven’t counted all the votes in the states that have been declared but the difference is so big that it would be almost impossible for it to be overcome by the votes remaining to be counted. Remember that (most of) the states are winner takes it all in terms of the electoral college votes. So they don’t need to know the results of every county to know that X candidate will get all Y electoral college votes if the remaining counties aren’t enough to swing the overall picture in that state.

It used to be that US elections were “called” by press organisations and there was a bit of a race to do that first. Then depending on how many stations had called it the “loser” would concede and it wouldn’t matter what the votes actually were. I think post Al Gore and the hanging chads there’s been more caution in doing that.

Jlort · 06/11/2024 05:28

@karmalaaaala That's about the same for the UK.

I think I must live in a bubble. Crazy.

RatitesUnite · 06/11/2024 05:31

It’s the economy, stupid and it’s better the devil you know.

This isn’t a complicated or shocking result.

I actually despair - how awful does someone have to be to put off voters?

As awful as Kamala, maybe?

Ilovelifeverymuch · 06/11/2024 05:37

Republicans just won control of the Senate

Looks like Trump could win?
dottiehens · 06/11/2024 05:38

Ridiculous comments here. The world is very unstable with Biden if we are to blame the US president for it. The US is very divided and again Democrats have played a part on this.

Too early to call the outcome. I said this before if Kamala loses is because they overkilled the game by exaggeration on the stuff Trump would do. ( as seen here) Float voters have the capability to switch between Obama and Trump and those are the ones who win elections.

Nothatgingerpirate · 06/11/2024 05:39

Yes, he's going to win.
Seems like this world hasn't gone totally fucking crazy yet.
I don't understand all these Harris supporters - who is she, where is her ground to ever become President?
Shame he's not a bit younger, though, but overall, good.

I feel terribly sorry for sane Americans. What a miserable and embarrassing few years they will have if Trump wins. And a risk to world stability.

I avoided the US when he was in power last time and will again. I won't take my dc there while he is in administration. It's not worth the risk.

@Countrylife2002 I'll take my DS to Toronto/Montreal instead, and Lake Louise if I can afford it.

There will be other years after order has been restored.

I’m sure you won’t be missed

Have the dead voted yet?

Frightened for your daughters? They’re called “birthing people” by the Democrats. How does that support women and girls when they cannot even be named?

Trump doesn’t care about women. To him they literally are birthing people with no rights over their own bodies once they become pregnant, or people to assault and rape.

Pumpkinspawn · 06/11/2024 04:41

Absolutely, she had loads of celebrities like Paul Rudd out in colleges trying to keep students in line to vote. Pathetic. She needed so much "celebrity" endorsement & it got her nowhere. I'm delighted that Trump will probably win. I think it is wonderful for females that he had not been captured by gender ideology & has a very direct plan to stop males infiltrating female sports, toilets, changing rooms, prisons & all our protected female only areas.

Where's your contempt for Hulk Hogan, Kanye West, Elon Musk and the rest of the rednecks who came out and endorsed Trump, then? How typical of his one-eyed, uninformed, hypocritical followers.

BooFiend · 06/11/2024 05:41

Well she gave it a good go but it was a foregone conclusion all along.

Looks like Trump could win?

Also her policies were just too woke for many Americans.

Ilovelifeverymuch · 06/11/2024 05:45

I have no contempt for them. Not referring to you but many snowflakes are gone into meltdown, it's been worth staying up for! Delighted for Trump, Vance & all the Republicans.
