Answer is no! But I will probably cave and let them put it up on 30th November! 🌲 but I'll know I'll want it down by Boxing Day!

Starting to decorate for Christmas this weekend.

I'm having three trees. I'm depressed and need some serotonin, dopamine or whatever it is I get from twinkling fairy lights.

My ds is an enabler and has been asking for the tree to go up all week.

All souls nearly destroyed me and remembrance Sunday is coming, I need to inject some sparkly joy so I can be a good Mum, wife, colleague, daughter etc.

Couldn't you do an in the middle thing? Fairy lights round mirrors and pictures, pretty candles, snuggly throws?

It's SO early! Not even advent yet

I thought that initially, but it's the Christmas tree that makes me happy, I think. And actual advent is really busy for us, it's going to be fairly full on, I want the peaceful, cosy, watching festive films with a cup of tea bit.

We have put the tree up by mid/late November the last couple of years anyway, I'm just edging it forward slightly.

We put the tree up in the first week of December and comes down the 7th of January. We are Spaniards living in Australia and still keep the Epiphany tradition.

Not until about the 20th of December, then down again around Boxing Day.

Christmas can be nice but I don’t want weeks of it. Seven days of it is plenty.

I agree. That's what happens in my house

BlackJacktheDog · 01/12/2024 16:53

14/15th December for the main tree. I'll spent a few mins every day until then slowly putting everything else up.

Ours went up today! Only free weekend day between now and Christmas, plus kids were desperate as they've started springing up all over the village. I do love it though so I'm not complaining Grin

Everything went up today! Smile Main tree in the lounge. (7 ft high.) ALSO, a small one in the hall, small one in the kitchen, medium one in the bedroom, and a small one in the kitchen. And oodles of tinsel, and Christmas decorations all over the house, (and many fairy lights in the garden!)

I LOVE CHRISTMAS! Grin

We bought the tree today (busy busy farm and very very muddy) and getting the decs out of storage tomorrow, so will start then but it always takes a couple days. I normally have my wreath up on the first too but this year bought kits off Etsy and I've got a friend coming to make our own next week.
